Klasse SG streaking and bad water spots, need help please!

Hello guys new here to the bored. Just got a carbon black M3 and boy I love it but it's a pain in the rear to take care of. I'm really learning everything I can about detailing it to make my life easier and to keep my car in good condition.

Anyway, I'm pretty pissed about the look of my car right now. rained here in AZ earlier in the week and I couldn't wash it for about 3 days. After I washed the car yesterday I saw water marks (or etched not too knowledgeable about water marks. It had the white circle). I thought it wasn't no biggy because I was going to use Klasse AIO and SG. After I put on the AIO the water marks were still there (little better but still noticeable)! You can't see the water marks unless you are very close to the car looking at a certain angle only in the light. I also had a question about the Klasse SG. What is the best method for putting it on? I put it on in the shade and the temp was around 60. How much SG should I put on at a time? I put on only like 4-6 drops for the hood. I used the put on wipe off method. It was just incredible hard to take off and it left streaks. I kept on buffing to get them out but it was still there (got a little better). What should I do now? Just keep on buffing? Also my car isn't smooth at all and I had the car for less than a month (even with the wax and SG). Do you think it's because of the water spots? Also I know the water up here in Prescott, AZ is pretty hard would it be a good investment to purchase a purifier system for the hose (I wash it on campus)? If so, does anyone know a goof purifier to use? Any info and tips would be greatly appreciate, thanks.

AIO wont be enough to remove waterspots, try a mild polish.

Regarding SG, there are thousands of posts about how to apply it, search for them.

Best method IMO, WOWO. If you get streaking just walk away for a couple hours then it should buff right out, if not hit it with AIO and start over, you used to much. it takes like 1/4 to 1/2 oz of SG to do most large cars. You never heard of mr. clean autodry? It will remove most minerals very well, and it's the cheapest option. Your car needs to be clayed, even brand new cars that sit on the lot should be clayed. If the surface is rough, clay is the universal answer.

did you shake up the aio really well before you applied it? i didn't, and i got a crappy haze, next day i shook it and it looks awesome now

First off, congrats on your new Carbon Black M3. That color has to be one of the more unique colors out there. I too have the same color and as you will see, it's quite possible to maintain and have this color looking its best. i've had some surface imperfections to deal with as well. What worked for me were the following:

Wash car with Dawn (yeah..yeah..yeah..i've heard it all about getting the right product to remove old wax, but this works fine)

Clay the entire car (Clay Magic)

Meguiars Fine-Cut Polish on Front Bumper with Orange Pad (All i had, or I would've used Yellow Pad with Medium-Cut Polish then progressed to Fine-Cut)

3M SMR w/ White Polishing Pad on the entire car. This helped the swirls and surface imperfections TREMENDOUSLY. Also was responsible for that shine. Lot's of folks don't like this product, but for swirls, scratches and very light cutting potential - you can't beat it.

Klasse AIO with Finishing Pad (grey) on the entire car. Trick here is to constantly moisten the pad with QD of your choice and use just a touch of AIO. When it's almost buffed out, use a MF Towel to remove residue and buff to shine.

I plan on putting on another coat of AIO then following up with 2 coats of s100.

Good luck

WE ARE CONVINCED! ;) Nice looking car...oh, and the detail too! :D

Again, I cannot stress this enough. I think Klasse AIO + SG looks great on black cars. Fabulous! I already converted a buddy with a black S4 Avant. My next victim: another friend with a dark charcoal grey 325iT!

Thanx Found!!!!! I've thought about Klasse SG, but i've heard mixed comments about it's application. ie. ease of removal, streaking, etc. Also, do you top off the sealant with a wax?

I find SG is a little 'sterile' on my car, and also when I first tried it it hazed like crazy, like most people I managed to put too much on. I prefer EX-P at this moment, and on that M3 I reckon EX-P would look amazing! Well, almost anything would look amazing on that car, congrats to both of you :xyxthumbs

I agree 100%. It took me a long time to get a hang on SG. Used FI, breadth moisture, etc to remove those streaks. Still not getting expected results. I was using TOO MUCH.

But now I love it. Last weekend I did two coats of SG on my GX470 and ended up using only about 1.5oz of SG excluding the roof. I apply it with a 100% terry applicator by hand. While applying it I see a lil moisture kind on the surface that disappears the very next moment. Kinda like you exhale your breadth on the surface and it goes away real fast. After applying on every panel, I just wipe it off in back'n forth or up'n down buffing motion.
