Klasse SG Removal

Hi,

I'm about to layer Klasse SG over the next 6 weeks (1 coat every week) to prepare for winter. I have never used it before but have read it can be quite difficult to remove (all my work is done by hand). My question is, could I use Sonus Acrylic Glanz to remove any stubborn streaks or hard to remove residue or would the Acrylic Glanz remove my fresh coat of Klasse SG and leave an inferior protection behind?

I know many will say put it on thin and thinner is better and I agree but it can be quite difficult to get it nice and thin and still have an even consistent coat. Or maybe Acrylic spritz is better for helping to remove stubborn residue from Klasse SG. All comments and opinions greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Davy.

Streaking and hazing can be easily removed with a H2O dampen MF wipe (buff). This may slow down final curing but since you are waiting a week between layers (excellent choice) this will not present a problem in terms of protection or appearance.

The Sonus Spritz will also work quite well also, if you have some on hand already, to even out appearance after initial applications. :wavey

i agree but i would mist with water, or something paintable like #34 just to make sure your layering SG over SG and not any leftover sonus...

You let rest the SG how long before wiping it?

Depends a lot on your climate. I find that once I have applied a thin film to the whole car it is ready to buff off. Dry climates less time... humid climates a little more time.

For what 6 coats of SG? With a coat you have a 12 months protection!

I wish that was the case... it's not. Multiple coats of sealant add some incremental protection, but not much. What you're really adding is more beauty.

Well, maybe according to the ad copy one coat will last 12 months ;) Six gives me a true year's worth of protection on a year-round daily driver that gets spot-clayed at every wash. One coat doesn't last all that long if you really use (and wash) the vehicle, especially in inclement conditions, well, at least not for me. And I find that KSG looks a bit better after maybe the fourth layer.

Oh, and I find KSG comes off quite easily if I fog the surface a little with my breath. Of course this works better in some weather/humidity conditions than others. I especially like suede-style MFs for buffing KSG.

Thanks for all the replies and opinions guys. Hopefully I won't have any streaking issues. Think I'll go for the Glanz spray option if I get any though. Thanks again.
