Klasse SG as a QD?

Saw something within the last few days on the web and can't find it again so I am asking for help. The gist of it was that Klasse SG could be put into a sprayer bottle, topped off with water, mixed up and used as a Quick Detailer. Anyone done this? Anyone else read the article? I think it was on one of the vendor sites.

Thanks in advance!

I did that, It didnt work. I highly advise not doing it, now that I think about it... the water mixed with the SG would ruin the properties of the product. Most QD's don't contain much water anyway. :nixweiss

It would be nice though. :)

I have herd of this before as well, but never tried it.

If SG is supposed to be applied dry, I don't see how dilluting and spraying it is going to help. Not to mention it would have little to no lubrication ability and no solvents to remove bird droppings, etc.

Would be nice if someone figure a way to mix their own QD, but I havn't herd of it yet ;)

I agree with StyleTEG, it doesn't really have the "right stuff" to be a QD. Besides, seeing how you can buy real QD by the truckload in a store, and you have to buy the (relatively expensive) Klasse usually by mail, I wouldn't want to "waste" it for use as QD. I got mine used at a good price ($$$ up here), so I know I treat mine like it is liquid gold and don't waste a single drop. :)

I don't think mixing it with some water is bad - I lubed my pad with water mist and I know it must've diluted the SG to some degree. It still applied and layered perfectly well, it was just kinda thinned out.

I've been doing it for some time now using AIO and water as a QD for my wheels. The text on the AIO bottle claims that it's water soluble. I like it, I get the functionality of a spray on wipe off application and besides, when my Sonus Acrylic Spritz bottle was empty I had to find a use for the bottle.

Actually, the idea came to me after realizing the Sonus would be gone soon, I had already known about AIO’s water solubility and it was something I had wanted to try. It works good in my opinion. The SG may be another story however since you would be wiping it right off, given its’ characteristics you might just be wasting product. That doesn’t mean you can’t try it however and see what the results are, (I’m sure someone has). Thanks for the link btw, the Klasse prices look good on the larger sizes.

It *was* AIO not SG, sync found the article I had remembered. I'm going to give it a try once I am out of my Meguiars QD. Great sprayer on that bottle!

Thanks guys, knew I could count on you!

Volvo,

I have to differ with on two points.

1) QD is almost all water,

2) Klasse do it yourself QD is made with 25% AIO and 75% water by volume. not SG

I have read several recipes for mixing your own QD but most is so cheap, and works so well, it didnt seem worth it to me to experiment with a new potion.
