Klasse or Zaino

Well after some looking around and doing searches I have narroed my Sealent choices to Zaino or Klasse

I think the Klasse would be the easier to apply do to the non mixing of stuff but then there is that dreaded smear/haze I was reading about. Klasse is alot cheaper than Zaino.

Could you provide some pro's and con's of either of them.

Heh...

I know some will insist that they're both equal and that each has their pros and cons. But being a Zaino zealot (do I lose all my credibility then?), I find Z to be superior in nearly every way. Guru Reports seems to agree.

Pricewise, AIO+SG is 10 cents cheaper per ounce than Z1+Z2:

Z1 $8.95/8 oz.

Z2 $12.95/8 oz.

Avg. $1.37/oz.

AIO $22.95/16.9 oz.

SG $19.95/16.9 oz.

Avg. $1.27/oz.

For new Zaino users, I recommend keeping it simple. Forget ZFX and all that curing time stuff. Just prep your finish, apply Z1, apply Z2, let the two dry (30 minutes), and wipe it off.

I could recommend wiping the paint with alcohol after the prep, but that gives Z perceived complication. Zaino still bonds with oils on the paint, but the bond is even stronger without.

Zaino isn't as complicated as people make it out to be. I don't bother with the Zfx since it's too time consuming. I just prep, Z1, Z2, let dry for 45 mins and buff. I don't bother trying to layer Zaino in one day, I wash my car every week and don't mind giving it a quick layer once a week for a few weeks. I've only used AIO so I can't comment on the AIO+SG.

BW when I went to there site and done up the order form for what all they said you needed to do the job right I was at:

Z-1 Z-1 Show Car Polish Lok ................................................. $8.95

Z-2 Z-2 Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes ........ $12.95

Z-5 Z-5 Show Car Polish for Swirl Marks ............................... $16.95

Z-6 Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray ............................ $9.95

Z-7 Z-7 Show Car Wash ........................................................ $7.95

Z-18 Z-18 ClayBar ................................................................. $16.95

Total: $73.70

If your gonna pay that much, you might as well get their total protection kit for about $10 more. If you wanna just get the barebones just get Z1,Z2,Z6&Z7. Shipping $7.95, and just pick up a mothers claybar locally:xyxthumbs

I was in your same situation so I tried both. Klasse AIO is about the best protectant on the market, easy to apply and very easy to remove. Protects and hides imperfections very well. The Klasse is excellent and hides imperfections (Zaino does not) and protects very well, but Becuase of the SG (second step), it is a bit more trouble to apply and remove. Actually... real hard compared to Zaino, even using a QD to help.

Zaino is the easiest product to apply and remove, has a super silky butter smooth finish and stays on for a good long time. Zaino does not hide any paint imperfections and the Z-5 DOES NOT, I repeat DOES NOT, hide swirls, I dont care what the bottle or the company says, it just doesnt work, even after 5 layers. Now for what I hate most about Zaino, the dust......Zaino attracts dust like nothing I have ever used. Even using their Z6 QD the dust attraction is unbelievable. All things considered, I stuck with Zaino and sold the Klasse, Its just to easy to apply and I LOVE how silky smooth my finish feels after using it. The shine and protection are about the same with both products and I notoiced no real difference in shine on my metallic Indigo Blue Chevy Avalancvhe. I am not a "Zealot", so I believe my opinion is a bit more neutral than some others but I still recomend it.

Klasse SG couldn't be easier to apply if you use Bill North's method. I'm a complete newbie, and was able to get great results using that approach.

Now, I'm not saying Klasse is better than Zanio (having never used Zanio, I can't say). But, Klasse does work great and is easy to use.

What is this Bill North method? I have done searches trying to find it but cant seem to locate it.

Also if Zaino attracks dust its not for me. I am a construction worker and dust is my worst nightmare. Only thing I have found to help this situation is P21S and One Grand Showoff QD. So if the dust is that big of an issue with Zaino I think I might pass.

I have Zaino on mine now and am experimenting with Klasse. As far as dust goes I didn't find Zaino was a magnet. A lot of waxes "seem" to collect dust becuase of the static buildup from the waxing motion.

I vote for Klasse. I find it easy to use and looks great and seems to last for quite a good while. I personally have never tried Zaino.:)

I've been using Zaino for over a year now and just started using Klasse. I'm leaning towards Zaino. Don't get me wrong, Klasse is an excellent product. It's not as picky about a "super-clean" surface like Zaino because AIO pretty much cleans everything off. The look of Klasse is also deeper, something that is especially noticeable on dark colors, but I've noticed it on silver as well. I definately like the Klasse look better. Klasse also doesn't attract dust as much as Z does. To me, Zaino just seems "easier" to me. There is a wash and QD made especially for the Zaino process whereas I need to mix and match with Klasse. I'm still reading up on which products are "compatible" with SG. I also like being able to apply 3 coats of Zaino in one day, not to mention the incredible slickness of a Z'd surface.

The dust issue with Zaino seems to go away after a wash, at least that's how it's been for me.

Just my 2 cents. :) Give me a few more months with Klasse, maybe I'll change my mind. :D

Both are good. You can't go wrong.

As for my method, search for my username (BillNorth , NOT Bill North - no space). I started a thread in the detailing frum. It should be on the first or second page.

Bill .. just for your info ... Day 3 ( yesterday ) I put a layer of SG on my trunk. Was 40 F and raining .. left it 3/4 an hour ... took some effort to remove and later that evening ( the car sat in the carport all day ) I went to leave and there was odd hazing on the trunk. This morning I washed and dried the car. After the wash the haze was gone. The 2 days before were roughly the same temp / humidity.

Next layer will be the true "BN" method.

Jesstzn,

Letting the sg dry for even 5-10 minutes makes it difficult to remove with a dry towel imho. Woo should solve that. :D

Yeepers .. days 1 & 2 were WOO+10 min and WOO and all was well.

Tkr128, Klasse makes a qd for their system, it's called the sonus high gloss acrylic sprirtz. It's very good give it a try. As for car wash, pretty much anything works good with it...

I vote for AIO+SG. Its easier to just do multiple AIO coats rather than Z1 2 3 4 5 6... Also, ive never had any problems with SG. It never smears or leave marks, and comes out with or without QD in the MF very easily. And I use my method for appliying SG, which is apply very thin coats.
