Klasse or Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion or both??

  • does Pinnacles Paintwork Cleansing Lotion do basically the same thing as Klasse AIO?
  • which one is better?
  • should i use both or just one?
  • if so, which one?
P.S.- i do know that AIO is soppose to lay down some protection also
 
aio goes on and off easy, has some protection, and is a good base for everything. the ppcl is mainly for souveran or paste glaz, would not be that great for any acrylic or polymer for a topper. Id choose klasse since you can layer anything on top of it.
 
The PPCL will have a little better cleaning ability (not much) but as Aber said, its a good prep for a wax. The solvents in AIO will remove any oils left behind by the PPCL so its kind of a wasted step. If you need some real paint polishing use a SMR or stronger, then go to AIO.
 
so the SMR would be used before the application of AIO? and youre saying PPCL would be a wasted step because the AIO would remove any improvments that it made to the paint?
  • i just did AIO/Souveran on my torch red vette for the first time, its never been polished or had "good" wax on it and it looks GREAT now, i love what the AIO did to my car(which was already in really good shape) and topped with Souveran is iceing on the cake
 
id use the aio if your going to drive your car everyday, and top it off with w/e wax you want. If your using a caranuba wax and you are going to drive your car a lot, id get the aio over the ppcl. Only time id consider the ppcl is if that vehicle is a show car or weekend car.
 
The PPCL has more abrasives than the AIO but FAR less than a swirl remover. We're talking about VERY VERY mild abrasives (Irene at TOL compared the abrasives in PPCL to talc). They won't really remove swirls, but MIGHT impart a slightly better look to an already almost-perfect finish. The AIO would remove any residual oils from the PPCL, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it would nullify any improvements. But as Abercrombie2582 said, it's a show-car type of thing, where we're talking about stuff that most people can't see.



FWIW, I LIKE working with PPCL. I sometimes use it after a SMR just to enjoy working with a nice, easy product. It really DOES leave the paint "squeaky clean". I've also used it to rejuvenate black trim.
