Klasse application/buffing technique

Guys,

Thanks for all of the helpful information you share. I recently purchase the Klasse twins and applied AIO last night. I was having a problem with trying to spread my "nickel size" amount over the recommended surface area without the foam applicator drying out. What am I doing wrong? After I thought about it this morning, I suppose maybe I should start at the center of the area and work the product out (instead of in a corner.) Should I wipe the AIO across the panel and then go back and buff?



My second question is: what's the best approach when you're final buffing with a MF and you pick up a nasty drop of water from the trim or something? Thanks for the help ---
 
Forgot to mention - used QD spray on applicator ...... I didn't "dampen," just used one spray per CMA suggestion sheet and others on this forum.

Yes, wipe AIO across the panel and go back and buff. The nickel size dab of AIO should do an entire trunk panel or half a hood on most vehicles.

I have the same problem- either it's the molding or the mirrors but drops of water always appear. I just wipe it, turn my MF cloth to a clean dry section and buff away.:cool:
 
Some people here do dampen their foam app with a QD to apply SG, others do not. I am in the camp that I do not apply a QD. I do it more so with AIO. When you apply the nickel size amount of SG to the app, fold the app in half to spread the SG on the app. Don't feel afraid to use a bit more than that, if you feel better, use a thin line of SG across the app. The foam app will eventually have enough SG on it that a small amount will go a long way. Again, you should only need a 1-2 oz to cover a medium sized car.



Also, use a bumper to bumper motion on the top surfaces, the way the wind goes over your car. I use up and down surfaces personally on the side panels ( I think the prior Z use has influenced me)

I dampened my AIO applicator per the instructions. They were not specific about using water, QD spray, etc. so I just used water and it seemed fine for me.



I learned about using QD to help remove SG residue (unfortunately) after I had finished putting on 3 layers!
 
Dampen your foam applicator with water. Water is all you need as QD is expensive. I have a bottle of FI sitting in my room but I have no use for it. Water worked so no need for FI. Anyone want my FI? :)
 
Thanks for the help again, guys. The more I think about it, common sense says to start in the middle of the panel and work outwards instead of starting at one corner and trying to "pull" the AIO to the opposite corner.
