The Mazda Miata has a number of curves in the bodywork that can really show off a good finish ... though, I'm not half the photographer that the finish deserves.
Steps so far: Clay bar, Pinnacle Paintwork Cleanser, Meguiar's Scratch-X and #9 to remove a few light scratches, Klasse AIO, Klasse Sealant/Glaze (4), and finished with one coat of Pinnacle Souveran paste wax. Realization -- I need a Porter Cable random-orbital.
Steps remaining: One or two more coats of Souveran over the next few days.
This car is a 1996 M-edition, with Starlight Mica Blue paint. In some lighting conditions, the color can be quite bright, nearly an aqua blue; in most lighting, it appears a deep indigo or black; when the sunlight hits it just right, the purple highlights in the paint come alive and dance across the curves wherever the light is most intense.
It's amazing to see the change in the color quality, with this Klasse/Souveran combination. It's a deeper, richer color than I've seen. So far, it's been mostly overcast, so the purple highlights are not yet obvious. But, with all the blemishes corrected, what is left is a deep, smooth, warm glow to the paint.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks to all who recommended this combination!
