The last time I did the complete detail to my car, I applied the AIO, removed the AIO and then let it sit overnight in the garage. I then applied the P21S/S100 wax in the morning. I don't know if it is just me, but I think it came out better when I applied these products in this way.

I think that's the way I would go about it. I actually follow up the AIO with 5x SG, wait at least 24hr and then apply carnuba wax (actually I use Pinnacle soviergn for the black volvo and S100, i.e. PS21, to the silver volvo).



There is no need to actually add the SG (but I feel it adds even more to the shine, and, more layers of protection).



If you skip the SG, I, like you, would wait a day before applying a carnuba. I do not have any scientific reason for it but it works for me as well too.
 
I actually read this suggestion on CMA's web site on the write-up for the Klasse-Pinnicle Kit. I tried it and it seemed to really make a difference.
