Klasse AIO and SG questions.

Hey everyone, I am planning on using Klasse AIO on my silvermist 99' Grand Prix GT. In my opinions, the paint is in pretty good shape, with only minor scratches, and no visible swirl marks. I was just wondering if it is necessary to use the SG after the AIO? I am really going for durability, so if the SG will make the product last longer, I am all for it. Also, is there an advantage to applying it with an orbital buffer? Also, I was thinking of using 1z paint polish before the klasse to take out any small scratches, is this safe? Should I use a less aggresive paint cleaner/polish for later applications? Please help. Thanks.

Hmmm, there are some filling properties to 1zPP, so you may find that the AIO will remove that and expose the scratches, but if they are small / fine scratches it shouldn't be an issue. And I have found that AIO has a pretty good swirl hiding ability anyways for fine cobwebbing etc.

And if durability is the aim, then yes, you must use SG. I would only recommend applying the AIO with a PC ( polishing pad ), the SG I'd recommend to do by hand, I found it clogs up pads and is wasteful of product.

If you want the finish to last, definitely use the SG. You'll be glad you did. Remember that SG looks better and better with each subsequent application. I've known some people to claim to notice benefits of layering up to 5 layers of SG (a little excessive, IMO, but this IS Autopia :p--excess seems to be the norm around here  )

Yes, if you have the time to apply a few coats of SG, I would do it. SG lasts quite a long time and provides some very minor swirl filling properties. Some people like to do SG by hand, but others have found that PC application lets them get the coats thinner (although the pad may soak up some product though).

Using a light polish first usually couldn't hurt, as long as it's something that actaully has some corrective power.
