Klasse AIO and SG and WOWO method

ok, I did a search a read alot about this, but I'm still confused. so, I'm going to recap the steps:

for Klasse AIO, use a damp MF app pad, put about a nickel size AIO on the pad and then use it on 2ftx2ft area on the panels. The WOWO says wipe on wipe off, but here is where I'm confused: so I wipe on with the MF app pad and then wipe off with another MF app pad or just use a MF towel?

Also, on each 2ftx2ft area, should I go over back and forth a few times with the AIO or just once?

and I'm still debating if i should dampen my MF app pad for the SG or if i should use it dry.

also, after the WOWO method, do I still have to buff off the residuals that were left on the car?

If you're going to to the WOWO method, wipe on with the damp app MF pad then wipe off with a dry MF towel.

If you want, you can go over the whole car then do it again panel by panel, just to make sure you didn't miss any spots. Most others, including myself, go over the first time to clean the area, and the second time to polish.

OK BYE!

thx for input, one more thing: how much AIO and SG should I use? a dime size on the MF pad for each body panel or for the

whole car? btw, i have a 325.

If you use SG the same way you describe using AIO, you'll be madder than a wet hen!

From what countless people say, the SG needs to be applied so thin you should think you're not really accomplishing anything. The best idea I've heard so far, put a little SG in a squirt bottle and mist the applicator once per panel. I haven't used the stuff yet but everyone says, "thin is not thin enough." I'm sure some other will chime in soon

After years of using the Klasse Twins, this works for me. As most everyone will tell ya....."Less is more". Your goal is to apply "micro thin" coats of the Klasse Twins. For the AIO, Dampen a foam app with Sonus Acryilc Spritz and apply a "dime" size drop on the foam app. Work the AIO into the panel untill there's almost nothing left to buff off. Use a Quality MF to buff off any residue. Then repeat this process on the next panel. continue this process over the entire vehicle. In my opinion, Only 1 coat of AIO is needed since the next coat of AIO will remover the previous coat. Now onto the SG. It's crucial that you apply the SG as thin as possible, or you're in for a brutal workout trying to remove it. Other may differ, but I prefer a MF app dampened with the Sonus Acrylic Spritz when applying the SG. Apply it in the same manner you applied the AIO. Micro thin.....working it in untill there's hardly anything left to buff out. Buff any remaining residue with a quality MF........then on to the next panel. Repeat process until each panel on the vehicle is done. ( remember, 1 panel at a time) Wait 24 hours before applying the next coat of SG. In between coats, use the Sonus Spritz then the Sonus Acrylic Glanz. Then Buff!! Buff!! Buff!! This had always worked well for me. 24 hours after your last coat of SG, Try topping with Meg's #26,P21S or Souveran. ( insert you favorite carnauba here) Good Luck!!

Personally I don't like putting a carnauba on top of the SG because then I'm not able to use the spirtz or glanz as it's intended.

thx BlkTac05, so basically u r saying that one "dime"size drop on the MF should cover the whole car? or just each panel?

horatiub,

A dime or nickel sized drop should cover 1 panel. About 1 once should be sufficient in covering an entire vehicle.

Sonus makes a Carnauba Spritz you can use for the Carnauba of your choice!

Does WOWO only apply to AIO. or SG as well? I heard that one should first apply SG to the whole car at once (unlike AIO) and then buff the whole car off. please clarify

Apply AIO to your vehicle and remove, optional apply another coat to ensure that nothing was missed.

(WOWO)Apply SG on two panels, remove from first panel and apply to third panel, remove from second panel etc, etc

It may apply to both. However, some believe that using the WOWO method with SG won't allow it enough bonding time.

I apply SG to the entire vehicle and let it sit and dry for about and hour or two. Removing SG after doing the entire car may make it more difficult to remove and cause some hazing.

What is a good method for both AIO and SG if you're going to use a PC? Or is it just easier to apply by hand and buff by PC?

TOGWT originally said

Is that the one, dime siz e amount for the 2 panels or each panel dime size amount????

thanx TOGWT.

You can, and I have, apply both AIO and SG by PC but you will use more product. The PC will definitely help you apply THIN but you will be wasting some product. You'll also have to be careful that you don't "dry buff" and have your pads "grab" - again, you're going to apply a very THIN layer. I prefer the PC for AIO and hand application with MF pad for SG.

AIO is very easy both on and off so it's not absolutely critical to apply THIN but why waste product. SG is different but just as easy if you get the hang of it. Go panel by panel as you normally would. After the first panel your MF applicator should be damp - damp (not wet) is about what you want for the next panels. As you apply the SG you should see it almost immediately "haze up" or look as if it's evaporating (I call it a "whisp"). Remember THIN is in - you'll be applying 2 or 3 coats so don't get overly anxious. I let it dry for a good 1+ hour or so (take the time to do the interior, cut the grass or grab a beverage of choice). if you don't apply it thin enough you'll know right away when you go to remove it. Just hit it with some detail spray and it should come right out. Typically it's pretty easy to remove - I use 100% cotton terry cloth rather than MF to remove. Plan on applying another coat the next day and you're good to go. The 2nd and 3rd coat really start to bring out the POP. Results are always pretty darned good!

The Klasse Twins are some dynamite stuff - especially on lighter colors and the durability is way on top of most anything else out there. The time and patience to learn the SG part of the process will be well rewarded.

Iâ€â„¢m in agreement with what you are saying, however Autopian detailers are not concerned with durability only shine so the WOWO method in these circumstances works.

I use a fine mist spray bottle for application so for me, it probably works out at one dime sized per two panels, on the basis less is much better. A dime-sized amount for each panel would be fine, and aim to reduce it by 50% over time or use a spray to apply it

I like to use the PC for applying the AIO. It is very easy to use, and I get a more uniform application by going back & forth over the area several times.

I apply about a nickle-sized dollop of AIO on the pad, and hit the pad with a spritz of quick-detailer, for each panel I do. I go up/down then left/right abour four times each, then I wipe off the panel (by hand, with MF towel), and inspect. If I find something I don't care for, I'll spot treat it, then redo the AIO with the buffer.

For the SG, I use a dampened MF applicator, and put a nickel-sized dollop for the first panel, applying by hand. I continuously move the applicator over the same area again & again (covering the whole working area) until I can hardly see anything on the surface. (Have faith, it IS there) I then wipe off immediately with another MF towel. If I see any streaking there, I then wipe back over the streaked area with the damp applicator (no additional SG), and then wipe immediately with the MF towel.

After the first panel, you will only need a dime-sized dollop (or less) for each additional panel. Others may have said it, but it's almost a case of 'you can't put it on too thin.

I've found this method to be easy, and to give great results on my black Benz. (Yes, black . . . likely to show any streaks/hazing . . . of which there is none)

Indeed, this thread is very informative. I have 3 oz of AIO and SG on the way. Considering I detail only two vehicles, I can't see purchasing a large quantity of Klasse (i've heard a bottle will last a lifetime). Anyone willing to donate/ sell some of their Klasse twins?
