King of Plastic Trim - Chevy Avalanche

I'd Buff It
Hey I'm detailing a Chevy Avalanche on Friday. Lots and lots of plastic trim. :eek Here are the treatment products I got.

Poorboys Trim Restorer (no long term experience with yet just got it).
Meg's #40
Meg's Tech Protectant
Regular Armor All

I really don't want to have it streak after a rain because if it did it would look horrible on such a voluminous amount of plastic. :doh

What do you recommend out of the products I got ... or should I just wash it and forget the plastic treatment ? :huh

I've always had good results with PB TR but I make sure to buff with a towel rigth after, I think that holds true for about any plastic trim condtioner. The Armor All would be the same and produce the same results. Your Megs products I have not used. But the process is what you should be looking at to keep from streaking and that's to buff. Good luck with the Chevy its my son's fav ride and your right lots of truck to clean

I've used the Meg's Tech Protectant with great results but I don't remember having any U.V. protectants.

I prefer 303 but for something available at most Auto parts stores Lexol Vinylex works great for me. Gives a nice satin finish and has U.V. protectant. Goes on easy and hasn't streaked for me as of yet.

Depending on what you have had on there previously here's what I recommend and I did and it really helped out.I have a Z71 Tahoe with the grainy plastic flares/bumper covers. I had so much crap on it that I could'nt get any product to look good. I taped off the painted area's around the trim and scrubbed with a Poorboys all purpose cleaner & scrub brush, then wiped off and cleaned again with PB S&W , It honestly looked so good that I did'nt even need to put trim restorer on it , but it seemd to really helped starting with a clean fresh surface instead of going over old stuff that was on there.

I have an Avalanche and I have found that you have to buff the hell out of it to keep it from streaking. I have used Back-To-Black, and it streaked bad. I have recently tried Adams VRT with exceptional results. I love the low-gloss look and the way it does not attract dust. That is something you need to consider with the Avalanche, since the plastic is right at eye level. I would suggest the Adams VRT if you have time to get it. I got a product called Armor-Dillo and used it. It is very exspensive and tricky to apply. I used two wipes for the whole truck. That was about 6 months ago and it still has not faded all the way.

Klasse AIO has become my absolute favorite product to put on hard trim.

AIO hey, I didn't think of that but I got that stuff :doh . I'll have to try that first in an inconspicous spot ;) . Thanks everyone else for the feedback, whatever I end up using you can bet I'll buff the hell out of it to avoid any streaking. :bye
