OK, so weve all spent hours apon hours getting the paint finish looking like a pond..... you go out, get caught in a shower and by the time you get home the cars dry. Now iv'e looked at previous posts but can't find a product that is easy and quick to use, like a spray? that dosent take any of the wax off. Is there such a product out there? Any help greatly appreciated. Mark

I usually have to resort to vinegar and water/ Keep in mind, anything that is going to remove mineral deposits, will remove wax, careful when you pick your poison......

have you used it successfully? the mothers showtime that is.......vinegar dosen't go on my paintwork

Yeah vinegar seems to be the only thing that works on the water spots I get from my well water. It's either that or a polish to remove them.I too am in search of a QD that will remove them without removing my LSP.I've tried WAUD,Z6,#34 and Quik Detailer.

Mothers Showtime works good on waterspots that are not old, I use it the day after a rain.

I don't think it would work on built up disposits though.

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

Water Spots:

Water spots on the paint film surface are caused by industrial fallout, high calcium content water or the water from a light summer shower that that dries on the surface leaving a calcium / sodium deposit. If left for any length of time they will etch the paint film surface leaving a circular mark.

These can usually be removed by using detailer’s clay to remove any hardened deposits, and then using a solvent type (Meguiar's Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner) cleaner, if the surface has been etched then a machine polish should be used to level the paints surface and a surface protection reapplied

~Hope this helps~

Where I park to vist my friend in Sacramento was sprayed by the sprinklers and their lack of sprinkler heads.

Water spots came easily off the car, but the OEM spoiler still has water marks and I can't get rid of them.

The only thing I can figure is that the car had its paint baked on, where as the spoiler was probably painted differently and slapped on the car later in the production, so the paint had different types of curing.

You can see the water spots, but you can't feel them. I've tried quick detailers, All-In-One, vinegar, even 3M Fine Cut Rubbing Compound (with a non aggressive pad) and so far no love.
