Kevin Brown Method - What pad?

You guys who are already using the KBM, what pad have you found to work best with 105 and the DA and 205 and the DA? I know this has been discussed but I could not find it with search. Just bought my son a 99 CRV that is in bad shape and need to place an order. It will be my first attempt at KBM.

I've used it mostly on softer clears and rarely, but I use 'KBM' with a PC/white LC 5.5" pad/M105 most of the time. This finishes down very nicely and needs a quick follow-up with something like M80/LC white on the PC

What about the Meguiers pads, the 6.5". I ask because I was going to buy the sample bottles from ADS and they don't seem to carry a very good variety of LC pads, but they do carry all the Megs pads. Any thoughts? 6.5" pads seem awfully large for correction with a PC. I have alot of pads but all of them are 4"LC CCS. 4" pads and KBM work ok or too aggressive?

The Meguiar's 6" 8006 was too large to work well when I tried it on my Yukon (PC/M105). It did work fine via Flex, however.

I continue to use 4" pads via PC for all significant correction, and if you're concerned about them being too aggressive I'd just dial back the applied pressure a little bit.

Via KBM or any other method, you still just match the product/pad combo to the job at hand.

M205 really finishes best with the 7" black finishing pad from Meguiar's. It was designed around that pad and it shows. Also, your pad for M105 depends a lot on what you are working on. I have good results getting correction with the Meg's 6.5" yellow pad on some of the soft/medium clears. On harder clears GM, Audi, etc., you will want a smaller pad for serious correction. Something like a 5.5" Orange should work nicely.

I agree with you. I bought it together with some honda crv accessories and the final result looked sleek and really nice. No regrets at all.
