keeping wax ect. off trim?

just wondering if anyone has tips in preventing wax or ect from getting on the black trim when appling it. I saw a tip somewhere about putting painters tape over the trim. I have a jet black bmw with alot of black trim and I always seem to have many spots on the trim with wax on them or spots that I have kinda missed trying not to get the wax on the trim.

Apply a vinyl/rubber dressing such as 303 Aerospace or Vinylex to all your exterior trim prior to applying your wax. Doing so will allow hazed wax to wipe right off.

And remember, if you do get wax on the trim, nothing gets it off like peanut butter does. Or you could just use a wax that doesn't have fillers in it, thus elimitating the staining of the trim.

What will remove the wax residue AND clean dirty plastic trim?

FOr wax residue try the white vinyle eraser......it amazed me on well it worked. For cleaning I use carwash soap or a general purpose cleaner.

As Jngrbrdman said, peanut butter will do the trick of both cleaning and shing the plastic trim. For best results, try applying and rubbing in with a microfiber cloth, then buffing with a clean MF cloth.
