Have you tested the 105 + AW vs. Z5 Pro + Z8 side by side?
Sean, If you want to try DG let me know and I'll send some your way. It's a decent OTC line up, but nothing ground breaking IMO.
I think the Mother's FX line is a bit better -but then again.....
Mother's doesn't have a NASCAR team, so Duragloss is the ticket
I'm sticking with Zaino (as a LSP). It does a lot of 'little things' that other products don't.
For example:
When it rains....
-The road crud repels better than ANYTHING I've ever used.
-Water spotting on my paint and windows is minimal (sometimes none at all) after a summer shower, followed up by full sun.
-Z16 doesn't wash off the tires or spot, and my rims don't film up to the point that I need to use a dedicated wheel cleaner when I wash.
When I rinse my paint, water cleans off the surface like nothing I've ever seen.
I feel much better running my mitt over paint that doesn't have fine dirt/gravel/sand stuck to the surface. I have a black SUV, and used to polish out marring constantly. I haven't polished out our Tahoe since last December. I'm not saying that I don't have some marring in the paint -but it's very slight, and you can only see it in full sun/very bright days. It's not enough for me to bust out the polishing supplies every month.
IMO, most of the 'boutique' products work very well (if you follow the directions). Some products work better than others in certain climates, some look better than others in the 'eye of the beholder', etc... I still use (and like) 4*, Poorboys, WG, FK, etc...., but on my rides I only use Menzerna & Zaino these days. I'll read this post a year from now, and I'll probably be using something else (LOL).
At the end of the day, I'm more concerned with technique & products used prep the surface & remove or improve defects. I get 80-90% satisfaction out of prep, and 10-20% out of LSP.
The boards seem to be to top heavy with LSP. The trick to this game is surface prep and maintenance techniques (IMO), and that's all in the hands of the individual and his/her experience.
