Just picked up a bottle of Megs Ultimate Quik Wax

I saw it at Target today, and I loved Megs UQD I couldn't pass this up. Anyone messed around with it? If it's anything like their UQD I'm excited to use it :spot

UQW is amazing stuff--I love it. If you like UQD (which I personally don't), then UQW will knock your socks off. I'm sure you realize this, but keep in mind that UQW has to be applied to a clean surface.

it's a great product and i like it better than the UQD. it would be nice if they offered it in gallons (cost efficient), as it get expensive at $10 a bottle...

Agreed, agreed, agreed. Either offer it by the gallon through PBE stores, or lower the cost on the bottles. Personally, I think that 6.99 would be a good price point.

Impressive wowo product that I find I am using more and more. It does a great job on vinyl and plastic trim as well. Seems to last for weeks and imparts a very nice slick gloss.

i like it a lot, much better than uqd, which i also like, but as more of an after wash topper than a QD, i dont feel that it lubricates very well... the UQW is awesome , apply it after a wash and it makes an excelent topper wax, it beads very well too. smells like Hi-C !! and i do agree with everyone else, it is way over priced, and i probably will ot be buying another bottle for that reason

It also works great on brightwork and glass. In fact, I see no reason why I would use Rain-X again.

i've been using it for a few weeks now and love it, pretty comparable to Z8 or AW. Love the smell and love the spray nozzle. It mists a really fine spray. I'll be keeping the bottle after it's through. BTW, it's $12 here in Hawaii:eek:

not available here in Canada/Quebec !

I picked up a bottle in my autogeek order. I ended up paying around 13.00-13.50$ after money conversion + shipping. Not too bad, considering that Meguiars Quik wax is 11.00$cnd here.

Awesome :D I like using UQD after a carwash, so this will be perfect. Especially for windows. Whats the longevity like?

I've only applied it over NXT 2.0 so it's hard to say what the durability is but I love the enhanced gloss and slickness the product brings to my cars. It adds about 10 minutes to the wash time and leaves the paint slippery enough to make it much easier to wash next time. It returns that "self cleaning" effect that you get on a freshly waxed car.

I've used it after UQD on occasion, and that works just fine.

It's easy to confuse this product (UQW) with UQD as both are wowo, but Meg's has said it is not meant to be used in place of a QD. It doesn't have the lubricity to safely remove dust without marring. It would be like waxing a dirty car.

I found it for $10 at Walmart. Seems to go a long way so from a value standpoint I think it is a good deal. For me, it is another really nice product from Meguiars.

I've only used the first quick wax and really liked it but stopped using it b/c it was a dust magnet. Does this new one collect a lot of dust? Now I want to visit Pep-Boys during my lunch hour:nervous:

I just picked up a bottle on Friday and I must say I really do like it. I've never tried a quick wax before but this stuff was soooo easy to use and it left the paint looking deep, wet, and super slick! It's definitely going to be used between regular waxing from now on. :xyxthumbs

Gallon size please!

I have a bottle and like it a lot too. It does smell nice and leaves a super slick surface.

I also have AW but will probably stick to the UQW as it is available locally.

There is a thread on Mequiars in the product recomendation about producing the gallon size, so if enough people show interest it *might* happen. Who knows!

I haven't noticed it being any worse than anything else.

i still like DG AW a little better (otherwise i wouldn't have gotten a gallon) and it's more economical as well...

Hey guys I have a question... I am going to be layering KSG on my car over the next couple of days/ weeks, can I apply UQW now and then apply KSG over it later. Should I just wait till I finish the KSG coats? I really want to try this product though. Also, can it be used on black plastic trim for protection?

How does UQW compare to OCW? Might be an option to pick it up locally versus paying for shipping.

I've used them both side by side, and IMO the UQW is the hands down winner. UQW is slightly easier to use (OCW is generally a very user friendly product, but it can dry too fast and spot on the paint where as UQW never does). OCW can also streak on occasion, usually when it is a little cold, but I have not experienced that with UQW.

The final reason why I prefer UQW is the superior water beading and sheeting. It has the Hydrophobic polymer technology that really sheets the water away.

I did a durability test and with several washes, and 4 days of heavy rains I still had substantial beading and sheeting (80%~?) after 3 weeks.

i think you should just stick to layering your KSG's first then add the UQW

and i think it can be put onto the plastic trim, it says so on the bottle at least

=D
