Just painted wheels - when to opticoat?

Hey guys,



Just a quick question. I painted my wheels BMW Jet Black, and would like to Opti-Coat them before mounting. The painter said it's suggested to wait 30 days before applying any wax, is this accurate? Has anyone had problems waxing shortly after painting?



Looking forward to your expert opinions. PS, how do you think they came out? :)





























 
They look great.



I usually won't seal or coat fresh paint until 90 days. 30 days may be safe, but I don't take chances of being held responsible if the paint fails prematurely.



How much clear did you put on those? That might affect cure time a bit. Those wheels are a PITA to clean because of the narrow spokes and the gap behind them with the bevel of the barrel. Make sure you got complete coverage in there or they will be harder to keep clean.

Thanks for the positive feedback, that's very helpful. I know there is a sufficient level of paint throughout , even between the narrow spokes. I will ask the painter how much clear was used



Cannot wait 90 days so we will see after I'm back from vacation ;)
