I just oreder my cyclo, and wondering what tips and tricks that you guys can give me, i look forward to using it very often, =)

I just got mine a few weeks ago, but only had the chance to use it once. Others have said differently, but as far as speed/performance goes, it 's a big improvement over a PC, IMO!

And it looks so much cooler, too :getdown

The first thing I'd advise is to make sure the switch is set at "O" before you plug it in -I wish I had done so :o

Give a little thought to the products you use with it. I can't get it to work well with AIO, for instance, it flashes it too fast.

Be sure to get the velcro pad holders.

Inspect the Cyclo brand pads for little bits of velcro that get stuck in the foam. They could cause marring on some paints.

Consider using the 4" sonus pads.

Try to get in the habit of keeping it moving all the time, rather than letting it pause at the end of side-to-side strokes. This will be good practice for using a rotary and you'd might as well build up the muscle memory. Cyclo-to-rotary knowledge transfer seems to work very well.

Ok, thanks for the tip accumulator. Much Appreciated.

I purchase my cyclo with a few sets of cyclo pads. and a hook and loop backing plate.

For AIO or Prime i was planning to switch back to my PC.

My main purpose for the cyclo is compounding and polishing.

OK, sounds like you'll be all set. Just get those velcro slubs out of the foam ;) which is sometimes easier said than done.

yeah i been using it and stopped a few times ot wash the pads. it got annoying. im going to get a fwe sets of pads. it works very fast. for polishing.

I have had a Cyclo for over two years never even bothered to order any thing but the brushes for carpet.Works great prior to using an extractor. Some times I have not had to use the extractor.

i havent used the carpet brushes.

but i have used the cyclo for the past few weeks and it is amazing!

it removes swirls faster than a PC. but i cant use it with prime or all in one. it flashes too quickly.

i have to switch to the pc for applying aio or prime.

It does the same with Meguiars #80.

My local Optimum distributor also sells Cyclos and now that they no longer have set pricing, I can get one for quite a bit less. I have to finishing paying the rest of my son's tuition first though before any more detailing equipment.

It's not clear to me by your post as to whether you have tried the Cylco with #80. You've actually tried it with #80, or you're refering to other people's posted experience? (I haven't tried it with #80)

I used my Cyclo with AIO with the green pads a few weeks ago, and it worked beautifully - I didn't find it to "flash to quickly" :nixweiss.

Maybe this is one of those "experiences vary" things....my Cyclos flash AIO too quickly too; sometimes I've had to go back over it with more AIO to get it off. But I've used #80 without any problems :nixweiss

ScottWax- I see you haven't completely forgotten about getting one :D

happies713- You really oughta get the carpet brushes. I've been keeping one Cyclo set up with them all the time, what with all the winter [stuff] that gets into floormats. Gee, maybe I do need a *third* one after all

I have the Green and white carpet brushes. I have yet to tackle some floor mats.

I will soon, i just spilled some milk on my floor mats! and let the milk dry... OPs =)

I will attempt to use the green pads and AIO once again.

I borrowed a cyclo a while back and it didn't seem to work well with #80 but great with polishes that require a longer working time like DACP and Optimum.

I am on the verge of buying one.

Has anyone tried the soft, light grey brushes on upholstery?

I am thinking of ordering the light grey and the aqua brushes for carpets. Any thoughts?

My whitish/light gray brushes are pretty aggressive for upholstery. I've used them for that, but I was careful to support the Cyclo so it wasn't pressing down very hard. I sure wouldn't try them on a nice car's velour upholsterly for instance. Get both sets of brushes (worth the $) and just use some common sense. You'll see what I mean-this is a sorta aggressive tool and the brushes are kinda stiff.

I see; thank you for the clarification.
