Just Klasse'd my F-150!

I wanted to post my experience using Klasse AIO and SG on my new '02 Silver Metallic F-150. This is what I've done:

Day 1:

- Dawn Wash with Absorber and Supima cotton towel dry.

- Mother's Clay Bar whole truck - very easy and what a difference! Definitely a "Must-Do" step.

- 1 Coat Klasse AIO - paint finish was squeaky clean and shiny. I also AIO'd the trim, chrome, alloy wheels, and glass (except windshield). I applied the AIO with a terry MF pad and buffed out with a MF towel - both did a geat job.

Day 2:

- 1 Coat Klasse SG - used less than 1 oz for the entire truck. Wanted to apply it thinly since it was my first time using SG. It streaked in a few areas, but overall, it was easy to apply and buff out. I let it cure for 30 minutes. I applied the SG with a dry Meguiar's foam pad and buffed with a MF towel - both did a great job.

Day 3:

- Quick and light QD application to truck to remove surface dust.

- Applied 1coat Klasse SG - used less than 1 oz for the entire truck. Cure time was 30 minutes. Went on as easy as first time, and the buff out was again easy. It also streaked a little bit, but I found that a spritz of distilled water took care of the streaking. I re-applied SG to these areas. I applied the SG with a dry Meguiar's foam pad and buffed with a MF towel - both did a great job.

Day 6:

- Skipped two days since I was too busy with other things. Plus, it rained on Day 4.

- Washed truck with water only, and used Absorber to dry it off.

- Applied 1 coat Klasse SG - used less than 1 oz for the entire truck. Cure time was 30 minutes. Again , went on and came off rather easily. I applied the SG with a dry Meguiar's foam pad and buffed with a MF towel - both did a great job.

So far, that's 3 coats of SG, and the truck is looking great - I wish I had a digital camera to post some pics. The paint is so glossy and smooth, and the water beads up like tiny ponds on my hood. I'm shooting for two more coats of SG to make 5 in total. I've noticed a difference with each coat of SG I've applied. I'm not going to top it off with carnauba (even though it would get wetter looking), because I like the Klasse shine and want the long lasting protection.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and postings! Man, this Klasse stuff is great!! :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

Sounds like you have the procedure down pretty well!

Only a couple comments and questions:

- Why did you only wash the car with water on Day 6? I would be careful washing with no lubricant (such as a good quality car wash solution) as you could create more friction than you want against your truck panels

- Did you have to dampen the MF towel to remove the SG? Many of us have had to do this to fully buff out the SG.

If you get any pics, post ASAP!

mp5,

Since I QD'd before I applied the SG, it wasn't dirty enough for the EF Powerwash+. Therefore, I gave it a water only bath before the third coat of SG was applied.

As far as buffing out the SG - I used a dry MF towel, and it worked really well. Where I did experience some streaking, I spritzed the area with distilled water, buffed out, and then ran the used applicator pad over the area, let it sit for a few, and then buffed out.

I'm hoping to borrow a digital camera for some pics, because it does look good! :up

Sounds like your truck is looking good after all of that. You've got the right idea down, take your time and do the job right.

If my car is not dirty but I want to wash I usally get some Meguiars shampoo and mix one ounce to 10 gallons of water, it gives me some suds which I think help in the cleaning step so you don't drag the dirt around but it is not strong enough to strip the layers of protection.

Your plan seems like it works fine so I wouldn't use the soap unless you need to.

Can you post pictures of your truck?

Awesome. another happy Klasse user on a F150. I will be applying SG#4 on my red F150 soon. It makes red look so good.

This weekend I hope to get another coat of SG#3 on my wifes silver 4Runner.
