I wanted to post my experience using Klasse AIO and SG on my new '02 Silver Metallic F-150. This is what I've done:
Day 1:
- Dawn Wash with Absorber and Supima cotton towel dry.
- Mother's Clay Bar whole truck - very easy and what a difference! Definitely a "Must-Do" step.
- 1 Coat Klasse AIO - paint finish was squeaky clean and shiny. I also AIO'd the trim, chrome, alloy wheels, and glass (except windshield). I applied the AIO with a terry MF pad and buffed out with a MF towel - both did a geat job.
Day 2:
- 1 Coat Klasse SG - used less than 1 oz for the entire truck. Wanted to apply it thinly since it was my first time using SG. It streaked in a few areas, but overall, it was easy to apply and buff out. I let it cure for 30 minutes. I applied the SG with a dry Meguiar's foam pad and buffed with a MF towel - both did a great job.
Day 3:
- Quick and light QD application to truck to remove surface dust.
- Applied 1coat Klasse SG - used less than 1 oz for the entire truck. Cure time was 30 minutes. Went on as easy as first time, and the buff out was again easy. It also streaked a little bit, but I found that a spritz of distilled water took care of the streaking. I re-applied SG to these areas. I applied the SG with a dry Meguiar's foam pad and buffed with a MF towel - both did a great job.
Day 6:
- Skipped two days since I was too busy with other things. Plus, it rained on Day 4.
- Washed truck with water only, and used Absorber to dry it off.
- Applied 1 coat Klasse SG - used less than 1 oz for the entire truck. Cure time was 30 minutes. Again , went on and came off rather easily. I applied the SG with a dry Meguiar's foam pad and buffed with a MF towel - both did a great job.
So far, that's 3 coats of SG, and the truck is looking great - I wish I had a digital camera to post some pics. The paint is so glossy and smooth, and the water beads up like tiny ponds on my hood. I'm shooting for two more coats of SG to make 5 in total. I've noticed a difference with each coat of SG I've applied. I'm not going to top it off with carnauba (even though it would get wetter looking), because I like the Klasse shine and want the long lasting protection.
Thanks to everyone for their advice and postings! Man, this Klasse stuff is great!! :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs
