Just got the Guru Reports Wax Test!

Ok; hold on just a sec... :)



Sorry that we weren't able to test Einzett in our first tests. When we first started the website, we had tested approximately 38 waxes. As people started to check out the site, people started to let us know that we had 'missed' some waxes; truth was that we simply didn't know about them.



So, we bought more waxes. Then, when the magazine came out (that's the $100K cost that Bret's referring to), we found out that we missed more products. So, we've bought more products. Right now, at current count, we have over 75 different waxes in house...



I'll be sure to include the big "E" in our next test. Truth be told, someone wrote to me about a year ago, asking if we would test Einzett - when we searched for it, we were unable to locate it. I called dealers all over the country - no one had it...something about the solvents that were used in it weren't EPA approved, so Einzett had to reformulate for the US.



I don't know if that was true, or if it was bunk, but nonetheless, we'll be buying some E to test and will include it in the future tests.



All you have to do is ask, and we'll do our best to accomodate. It's so easy to be a critic and take pot shots...gotta' love the internet! :)
 
I appreciate the feedback GeekySteve, and thanks for including 1Z in the future. And here I was thinking I was providing my unadulterated self-proclaimed-critic opinions... oh wait, that IS what the internet is for!;)



Go ahead and hang me guys just because I had the balls to question the test. Did no one find any validity to what I was saying? If so, why was everyone vehemently supporting the test while damning my posts? Who's taking pot shots now? I was never questioning GeekySteves knowledge or reputation, I was however attacking the test.

You are certainly NOT the only person who has criticized the test. Like you, many people complained that their favorite product was not evaluated. The reasons for not including every product on the market have been discussed over and over and over and over. Maybe searching out info here and at other websites will open your mind a little more.



You can fully expect others to jump down your throat when your so called unadulterated opinion is graphically unreasoned and myopic. The test is invalid because they didn't evaluate your favorite wax? THAT is why your posts are invalid and THAT is why people are taking you to task. Congratulating yourself on having "balls" to question the test isn't making you many friends either.



If you are going to be a critic the least you can do is be original. So far nothing you have posted is unique or illuminating. So what's left? Some personal jihad?

we all love our cars. we all do our best to keep them looking fantastic. we all have our own ways of achieving this. steve has attemted to make this journey less painful. THANK HIM!!!



steve, you are underappreciated. thank you for all of your time and effort you have invested. a million thank you's from all of us here at the wonderful world of Autopia. keep up the good work.

i have carefully reread all of your posts and i must honestly answer - no. by your reasoning not a single one of us can post a review comparing two products because we are leaving out all the other products in the world. take it for what it's worth. if you don't want to buy it, then don't. :nixweiss

steve has done what we do on here everyday, except in an extremely detailed and formal fashion. there is one more difference - he is providing this service while accumulating debt. he has done more than anybody else. why is he being attacked??? nowhere does he say that all products not tested suck. sorry for ranting , but your "criticism" is unfounded and uncalled for. steve should not have to put up with it - BUT HE DID. why? because he is in no way slanted. it is unrealistic negative feedback like that which you have presented that might motivate steve not to go through the hassle of putting another wax test together. now that would be a disservice to all.
 
1. As I've stated, I never attacked Steve or his reputation, I DID attack the test. Nothing personal against Steve, but you folks somehow perceived it as an attack against him.



2. My views are my OWN. Myopic? Perhaps, but that's what makes them mine. Original?! Please... these are my views/opinions, and mine alone, and that is what makes them original. Besides I never touted myself as being either original nor unique, but you want to attack me for not being original!? OK, so neither are you, everyone else has already stated they disagree with my views... is that how your logic works?



3. What forsight is required to question the validity of anything I don't agree with? I'm not allowed to disagree? I have to have the forsight of collected information from the internet?



Would everyone feel better, if this witchhunt ended in my disposal and loss of membership because of my point of view/skewed and myopic opinion, or my “attack� on a test? Wouldn't you guys feel better if you just told be to go to hell? Take a hike? Leave?
