I just got some S100 (:up ) and can't wait till this weekend to use it (weather permitting :( ) One question tho.....

I've also got a bottle of Meg #6, that glaze polish I think, and would like to know if it would be safe to use the S100 over the Meg #6..... TIA.

Meguiar's #6 is the cleaner/wax. Yes you can apply the Meguiar's #6 on the car, then top it with S100.

Meguiar's #7 which I believe you have is the Showcar Glaze. You can use it under the S100. It is a glaze that will increase the shine on the paint making it look wetter and ready to be waxed with the S100.

Happy Detailing!

Jason

PS I just got my P21S kit in the mail, ugggggghh ::drools:: can't wait to try it out, especially the paint cleanser.

yea I think it's #7..... I'm at work and couldn't remember which one it was..... Thanks for clearing that up, can't wait to see what it'll look like w/ the #7 and S100:bounce

I've used S100 over Meguiars Hand Polish, the Body Shop Pro version of #7. I think you will be very pleased with the results. Make sure you post pics.

I use # 7 topped with S100. Usually use #7 by hand, but this weekend; I'm using a buffer with the # 7. And of course, topping with S100. I love this combo.

What is the difference between Meguiars Pro Shop Hand Polish and Meguiars #7 ? Also are these products almost the same as Mothers Sealer and Glaze?

The color is different!

Hand Polish seems to have more gloss, IMO than #7, in addition, it comes off a bit easier.

Never used Mothers Sealer and Glaze, so I can't answer that.

I prefer the #7 under the S100, for me this is the best combo on a dark car, deeper than GEPC. If I am only doing a quick wax and the paint is a little dirty, I have had good results with the GEPC and S100 combo, actually more shine. I have used the #7 by hand and with a PC, I prefer the PC, but both are outstanding.

What other polishes have you guys used under the S100

I have also seen posted on this forum a few days ago someone TOPPING s100 with a product like Platinum UPP for more lasting protection. Does anyone have any other thoughts on this or even heard of this before?

Surely you must mean topping UPP with S100? Topping sealants with waxes is fairly common. I doubt it'd work the other way around. Where'd you read this?

Can I do this:

Apply Meg. Scratch X w/ Orbital, buff w/ MF

then, apply #7 w/ Orbital, buff w/ MF

finally, apply S100 by hand, buff w/ MF.

I'm assuming it would be okay to use Meg. Scrath X w/ the other two products..... yes or no.

If you need additional paint cleaning prior to #7, use #9 instead of Scratch-X. It is a bit less aggressive and has more oils in it to deepen the shine.

Check out the Porsche 993 I have in the gallery. I used Swirl Free (the BSP version of #9), Vanilla Moose and topped with S100.

4DSC-- Check out the thread" IS THIS AN OVERKILL ". In it member F355 talks about topping S100 with a poly-seal and saying UPP might also work.

Hmm, I'd say what he did was definitely experimental. The sealant he used may be "non-abrasive", but that doesn't mean it might not be capable of stripping the wax off first. In general the accepted wisdom is that you do it the other way around and sealants won't bond to "regular" wax. At this point it's still too new to attempt unless you're willing to do some testing and experimentation in my opinion. :)
