The black pad is a finishing pad. It's used via PC to apply glazes, waxes and sealants. Use it via rotary with very mild polishes like DP FFP, SSR1, or VM to burnish a surface to a perfect gloss. Its one of the most underused pads, IMHO.



I feel that some waxes and sealants work much better by PC. The only waxes I use by hand are Souveran and Natty's. FK1 Pink, UPP, #26, EX-P, KSG, Collinite and FK2180 work much better via PC/black pad, its tough to get a real thin layer of them via hand. For the pastes, use the PC wrench or a butter knife to apply wax to the pad.
