Just got my PC, need polish?

My PC just got here I am new to this tool. I have been looking at polishes and WOW there are sooo many to choose from. So far I have 3 in mind, OP, Danase SA and 4 Start swirl remover. The 2 cars I will be workin on have swirls and very light scratches. What would you recommend for a Newb?

After I polish what would the next step be? Go over with a finishing polish? Then Glaze? Then Sealant?

Thanks

My PC Newbie advice is the same thing I still use on some of my vehicles:

1Z brand polish topped with Collinite brand wax (sources: Welcome to Exceldetail.com! or Aloha & Welcome to Our Oasis for All Your Auto Detailing, Auto Detailing Supplies, Auto Detailing Equipment, Auto Detailing Products, & Auto Detailing Accessories for all your Automobile Detailing ).

Moderate marring- 1Z Paint Polish; very fine marring (or for a finishing polish)- 1Z Metallic Polish with Wax. Top with either Collinite 476S (paste, *VERY* durable) or their 845 (liquid, very trim-friendly and a little easier to use).

Simple, effective and *VERY* user-friendly. No need for a glaze or a sealant (really ;) ).

Never had any negative feedback on it yet, and I've recommended it to a *lot* of people.

I for one do *not* recommend OP for beginners...I still find it a ~PIA and I've been using Cyclos/PCs for decades. The 1Z is a whole 'nother ballgame when it comes to "foolproof".

Sonus SFX 1,2 and 3. Pads SFX 1,2 and 3. You can get it right here on Autopia. You can get out any swirl or scratch with these products. Also, SFX 3 is one of the best finish polishes anywhere. I believe Detail Doc is with me on this one.

I don't really recomend them for rotaries but for the PC they are tough to beat. They correct without marring and they are completely idiot proof. Autopia can get them to you in two to three days easily with cheao shipping.

I'm with Accumulator; 1ZPP and MetPWax are a fantastic combination. I also love Collonite 845 -looks great and lasts forever!

With 1Z ...Followed by a sealant or wax?

The PP/MP don't work well with some sealants, probably because of the wax they leaves behind. I just put waxes over them, usually Collinite.

If you use the 1Z High Gloss instead of the MP you could go to a sealant, but it won't do the tiny bit of concealing that the MP does. Most of the time, I'd go MP with wax on it.

A lot of opinions on this one, too many products out there and nobody is wrong. I think you'd be best off getting one decent compound (I've been using the 3M 3000 line rubbing compounds 06060 and 06062, but other companies make good products) and a finishing polish that is capable of cleaning up compounding haze (3M ultrafina or Menzerna 106FF for me).
