Just finished using the Z2 Pro

Yes, as it has been said more than once...

RIC, these are different products with many cross usages.

If you want more explanantion than that, call Sal and he can tell you everything you want to know about it (sans forumula).

No one is able to tell you more than you know at this point.

From the given descriptions, it sounds like the zaino version of optimum wax. in other words, you do not use it on a dirty surface because it wouldn't be meant to be used as a cleaner. z6 would be better suited to that task. And like optimum, it sounds a mild standalone sealant, which you are to treat it as if you have z2+zfx mixed, diluted, and put in a spray bottle.

at least, that's what i gather from what is said so far.

Could this be like the Z8 has a category of its own in the "middle" of the Z6 and the full-fledged sealant Z2/Z5/ZFX:

Z6 -- Z8 -- Z2/Z3/Z5/

???

It's more than a QD (Z6), thus a "super-QD," but not a full-fledged sealant like Z2/Z3/Z5 since it could not last nor achieve the same level of performance as the latter. A QD that could be used for touch-up but unlike the Z6, will try to extend or boost the Z2/Z3/Z5.

Is this how it's to be viewed?

Is it like NXT spray wax that boost NXT tech wax? and thus, we must not expect this Z8 to act in the same way as the full-fledged Z2/Z3/Z5??? So it won't replace the latter???

Is it like an advance Z6 but a mild Z2/Z3/Z5?

That's pretty much what it sounds like so if it [Z8] cannot be used on a dirty surface than the terms QD and Z8 should not be associated together at all.

Since it takes me total time of 30-40 minutes to apply apply a coat of Z5 or Z2 I see no need to add this to my arsenal unless it adds more pop than Z6.

For example, if I put 3 coats of ZFXed Z2pro on my car and at the end Qded half the hood with Z6 and used Z8 on the other half of the hood which side would look better? Or would they look the same?

Optimum claims to be a standalone sealant with up to 5 months protection. If you have read any of my posts on Optimum you will know that I was not impressed with it.

Why is this so difficult for you? You are making an issue of this when there is no reason for it. Can you not wait until tomorrow to pick up the phone?

The spray sealant adds more slickness and protection to a Zaino protected finish.

Why does the mention of Zaino get everybody uppity 90% of the time? Really, I'm wondering.

IMHO probably because it has been the standard by which these new and some old companies are trying to emulate. Every product is incredible and the customer service is awesome.

There are a lot of great products out there, but mention Zaino and chills start to rise. The best one is its better on lighter colored cars, Come on its awesome on black ( 10 times better than the Souvran I spent $69 on) !!

I have no time during the week to be calling Sal nor will I be calling him.

I am not trying to "make an issue" of it, just trying to understand what you guys are posting. I am not the only one who has asked some good questions. But those other questions are being ignored.

5 minutes???

I think the product has been explained as much as possible until it is released. Don't know why we all can't leave it at that?

You guys just need to wait and see, so there isn't any undue hype or speculation.

OK! I don't want to keep pestering the Zaino guys for some of my stupid questions which might lead to some undue speculations. I just can't resist asking it.

I can leave it at that but I have to leave an open question which is not required to be answered:

This new Z8 is a complementary product for the Z2/Z3/Z5, and will not in any way REPLACE or be INFERIOR to the latter, right??? Or if it could be a stand-alone sealant, I'll better dispense with all the components of the Zaino systems: Z2/Z3/Z5, Z6, Z7, and just bought a single Z8 that does it all...

It's not meant to be a long-term stand alone. It's design is not to replace ANY Zaino product.

That addresses my concern. Thank you very much!

Your clarification of the "long-term stand alone" issue saves those prospective Zaino newcomers who might have mistakenly bought the Z8 (assuming it would be released soon) ALONE with the belief that it's one hell miracle spray sealant from the superior Zaino line, only to find out that it's not, and leads to the bashing of the product as well.

Thanks again.

Start a thread praising or bashing Meguiars NXT and it ends up being the same thing.

OK, after reading through this thread I will have to try Zaino just to see what everyon's talking about.

Question....Can you use Z-2Pro on a car that's not clearcoated or questionable?

How would you tell if a car is clearcoated?

Apply some pure polish or cleaner/wax to a white terrycloth towel and rub it on the finish - if you can see color on the towel, it's not clearcoated. Z3 is formulated for non-clearcoated finishes. :up
