I am aching to get rollong with it this weekend and can purchase the Meguiar's pads locally. Can someone give me some info as to how these pads compare to the CMA pads in abrasiveness and quality. Also, is the pad supplied by PC good for anything?

I used it on my Mom's car while I was waiting for my pad kit. Did an OK job. It has since been demoted to shower duty.

I prefer the Meguiars pads over CMA's. More surface area in contact with the paint, and they are more durable IMO.



Be aware that there is no relationship between the color of the pad and its properties:



Meguiars polishing pad is yellow, CMA's is white

Meguiars cutting pad is maroon, CMA's is yellow

and so on...

Try your local auto body supply store. Or go online. You won't find them at an auto parts store unless they do alot of biz with body shops.
