Just bought a Gilmour Foammaster!

I just ordered myself a Gilmour foam gun and was wondering what soap everyone is using. I see that there are some soaps that are being marketed for foam guns. Are they worth it?

The concetration (soap::water ratio) is going to dictate how foamy it becomes. I've had success with chemical guy's citrus gloss but it takes about a full pump and 25oz of water to make it frothy like icing on a cake.

What you use, and how you use it, will depend on what you're trying to do with the foamgun.

I mix up a gallon of concentrate with 6 ounces Griot's Car Wash and the rest water, then I fill the foamgun from that and usually use the middle or higher settings at the gun. But that's for how *I* use the foamgun.

I had been using Griot's for a number of years, long enough that the pump head on the gallon jug broke from old age.

At that point, a bit of laziness set in, and I used Meguiar's Gold Class for a little while. It was easy to get locally. People would complain that it smelled like bad cologne, but, having scrubbed up two little ones years ago, it reminds me of Johnson's Baby Shampoo (gotta say that nothing smells better than a freshly-bathed baby).

As I bought a new foam gun in the fall, I was sent a sample of DP Xtreme Foam. I used it and liked it.

When I was packing up my "road kit" to go work on my brother's Suburban about a month ago, I discovered a half-full, small-size container of Griot's.

I just "had" to compare, so I fired up the Griot's in the foam gun. IMHO, even-steven with the DP.

When the 128 comes out to play in March, I'll probably grab another gallon of Griot's, and a new pump-head.

Do bear in mind that Accumulator has a pretty specific wash routine. As they say in the advertising, your results may vary, though I think that both work admirably in foam guns.
