I wanna chime in
....Accumulator is awesome. He knows his stuff. I now own a bunch of 1Z stuff.
I recently bought and tried the Gloss-it one step and I've gotta say WOW!
My first time out with the Cyclo and the 1z stuff wasn't so great. But after some work, watching videos, and listening to Accumulator, my results turned out much better.
For my Yellow jeep, the 1Z stuff was awesome and Accumulator's advice was spot on. For my black Cadillac, the 1Z stuff didn't work out all that great. I'm going to do the Caddy again in a few weeks, I'll report back with pictures and results.
So a couple of weekends ago, I tried the Gloss it one step. I did a friend's silver camry. I did a wash, clay, then one to the Gloss-It with the Orange pad. I was simply amazed by it's ability to take out swirls and rids. I stopped at the Orange pad. The reason I stopped there was because I tried the 1z HG on a green pad and I couldn't tell the difference in finish. I then tried 1z HG on white and couldn't tell a difference. So using only the Orange pad in this instance worked out great.
I'm no professional detailer and I'm sure that if an Autopian saw the work, I'm sure they could point out things that I was missing. I'd say that after the one step on orange, the paint was corrected about 80% -- which is good enough for most people and which far exceeded what my friend was expecting.
My point is, you're going to have to try different pad/polish combos on different paints.
If you want, I'm more than happy to send you some of my 1z stuff for you to try out
. I have enough polish to last years and years since I'm not a pro and only do this a couple times a year.
