Just bought a car -- should I treat the new leather?

I just purchased a BMW M3. The leather is great, very soft yet has this rough-like characterisitc that helps keep u from sliding around. Same leather on the steering wheel.



My question is, should I treat the leather right now when its new? Or should I treat is after its a little worn out and is "necessary"?



I usually use Lexol but just bought a new bottle of Zaino's Leather In a Bottle that Im planning to use instead.
 
I think I waited 2 months before I started using the Lexol. I'd like to try the Zaino some time too.
 
I'd just go ahead and condition now. The Zaino conditioner is very light anyway and I do not think it can do any harm. Also, I think your car will smell better after the conditioning than when you purchased it new.:)
 
Wow, congratulations on the new car Luder!! I guess we can't call you (pre)Luder anymore...



If the car is brand new, I would say that conditioning the leather is just optional and not necessary. If the car was pre-owned, then I would do a full cleaning and conditioning. Personally, I would go ahead and condition right off the bat regardless of whether or not it needed it. How can anyone resist babying up a nice M3??
