Just bought a BMW... Planning full detail, need some help (pics)

1) Wash (Eimann Fabrik Powerwash+)

2) Clay (Pinnacle PolyClay w/ Meguiar's clay lube)

3) Wash (Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo)

4) Polish (Menzerna FPII by PC w/ LC yellow pad)

5) Cleanse/Prep (Klasse AIO by PC w/ LC white pad)

6) Glaze (Menzerna FTG by PC w/ LC white pad)

7) Seal (Klasse HGSG by PC w/ LC black pad)

8) Wax (Pinnacle Souveran by hand/foam applicator)

Tires: Meguiar's #38

Plastic: Plexus

Glass: SIG

Convt Top: 303 Aerospace Fabric Guard

I would skip step 3 since you are going to polish. Don't know how well 6 work under step 7. I have used FTG under FMJ but not under klasse.

I would wash, clay, polish, seal then wax after the sealant cures.

Well, I spent about 7 hours doing the following:

1) Wash (Eimann Fabrik Powerwash+)

2) Clay as needed (Pinnacle PolyClay)

3) Wash (Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo)

4) Polish (Menzerna FPII by PC w/ LC yellow pad)

5) Cleanse/Prep (Klasse AIO by PC w/ LC white pad)

6) Seal (Klasse HGSG by hand w/ MF pad; let cure for about 1.5 hours then buffed)

7) Wax (Pinnacle Souveran by hand w/ foam pad)

Tires: Meguiar's #38

Wheels: Klasse HGSG by hand w/ MF pad

Windows: SIG / Rain-X

Headlights/Taillights: Plexus, followed by Klasse HGSG by hand w/ MF pad

Now for the bad part... So I spent all this time today, then left to go somewhere and within 20 minutes of leaving the house... RAIN!!! People driving in front of me probably kicked some wonderful grit up on the vehicle, so regardless it will need another bath tomorrow. I guess it really only spritzed and it only went on for about 20 minutes, but still... It's moisture on the wax/sealant...

My question is whether I am going to have to do the HGSG/Souveran all over again.

I'm guessing the HGSG had probably had about 3 hours of dry time before it got wet and the Souveran had maybe 1.5 hours before it got wet (in 88+ degree weather). Looked real nice for about 1 hour...

So, what do you think? Am I screwed with the HGSG/Souveran??

P.S. I'll have pics up when I get it looking respectable tomorrow...

Anybody think I'll have to re-apply both the HGSG and Souveran?

Well, went out and looked at the car today. It actually looks pretty good. It appears that most of the water either flew right off of it while driving or just evaporated without leaving much residue.

I will do a quick wash, inspect the whole car to see how the HGSG/Souveran are holding up and perhaps QD as necessary. Then I'll post up some pics!

Well, I washed it and I suppose it looks pretty good. I'll let you all be the judge:

Anyone see a problem with repeating this process in the near future with 2 updates:

1) Wash (Eimann Fabrik Powerwash+)

2) Clay as needed (Pinnacle PolyClay)

3) Wash (Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo)

4) Polish (Menzerna IP by PC w/ yellow pad)

4) Polish (Menzerna FPII by PC w/ white pad)

5) Cleanse/Prep (Klasse AIO by PC w/ white pad)

6) Seal (Klasse HGSG by hand w/ MF pad; let cure for about 1.5 hours then buffed)

7) Wax (Pinnacle Souveran by hand w/ foam pad)

Shouldn't be a problem, right?
