This is a before picture of the trunk lid. Teh orb is an overhead light. I tried to get a close up to show the swirls.

I clayed the surface, polished it with Menzerma Intensive polish with CMA orange pad. Next I polished it again with Intensive and a yellow pad. Finally, I used the Menzerma final polish.

There are still some small blemishes - I think you can see them in this picture. Do you think there is more I can do?

NICE job with the swirls.



As for the other marks, I cant really tell what they are from the picture. Can you scrape one off with your fingernail, or are they in the paint.



Try a more agressive polish, like a light compound. But then you have to SMR again. Maybe someone else will chime in with better advice.

If by imperfections you mean the little white specks that could be pockmarks in the paint, I don't think there's much you can really do for those. Maybe you could elaborate?
 
I *may* have a few marks like those in my paint as well, but I'm not sure. I was thinking maybe lint or something else (maybe from a MF towel ?)



Usually when I get little marks its when I use a QD spray and try to get out "stains" which I know isn't the best way to do it (I don't anymore...)
