Joyriide detailed: Whole lotta shine!

This Mercedes Benz CLK320 was from a member on G35driver.com, of whom I also detailed his G35 (further down in the thread) the day after.

This is a 7 yearold car but was in remarkable shape considering its age. Customer was not interested in getting it completly perfect, instead opted for a basic one step polishing detail. That meant I had to find the perfect product and pad combo that would remove the most defects possible, but at the same time leave a perfect finish. For that I chose the typical Menzerna PO106ff on the rotory. Menzerna PO106ff has a heavy sharp cut in the beginning but has diminishing abrasives which finish flawless almost instantly. I guess thats why its made for those hard ceramiclear paints.

Exterior

Wash w/ Meguairs Detailer Line Super Soap
Clay w/ Claymagic Blue
Menzerna PO106ff via white polishing pad @ 1500 rpms
Seal with FK1 #2180
Tires dressed with Armor-all Tire Gel
Fenderwells dressed with Adams Undercarriage Spray
BTW, you'll notice that the right side fenderwells have white splatter. That is actually dried cement, of which I had nothing to remove it with or clue as to where to look. They have a lot of construction going on in their neighborhood.

Interior

All interior surfaces were cleaned with Surfcity Garage Dash Away. I also used this product to remove some spot staining on the carpet.
Leather and all vinyl surfaces were dressed with Zaino Z10 Leather in a Bottle.

Today I did the Mercedes Owner's G35 Coupe. This was a joy to work with. Moderate to light swirling and heavy interior issues. Again, he was not interested in getting the finish 100%, instead opted again for a basic one step polishing. This meant that again I had to find which pad and product combo to go with. By default I grabbed Menzerna PO106ff, but this turned out to be the wrong choice. It kept leaving me minor holograms and the dusting was just too much if I tried to finesse the paint too long. Only way to avoid it was to go with a grey finishing pad, but that wouldn;t remove enough swirls for me. After trying a few different products, I grabbed good ol' faithful Optimum Polish. Little to no dust and has the longest working time of any of the products I own.

Polish with Optimum Polish via white pad @ 1500rpms.
Poorboys Polish w/ Sealant
Collinite Insulator Wax (Soon to be my ONLY wax, thats how great it is.)
Tires Dressed with Meguairs Hyperdressing (thanks for hooking me up Scheer, I was too lazy to order more. I'll pick some up again when I place a larger order).
Fenderwells dressed with Poorboys BnB

This Space Gray Coupe is from a member off e90post.com. He dropped it off at my house @ about 9:30pm and picked it up @ Midnight (thats the kind of custom service I can offer my clients... HINT HINT). He just wanted a repeat of a prior wash and wax. I couldn't just wash and wax alone so I ended up claying all horizontal surfaces along with rear trunk and bumper. Interior got wiped down and leather got a quikie with Poorboy's World Leather Stuff

Nothing Special. This is my car. Gave it a quick wash and figured it deserved a little attention. Right now its wearing Collinite Insulator on it 3rd month. I know, 3 months isn't anything special, but look at how tight the water beads @ 3 months. Deserves a lot of credit for a cheap OTC wax.

Nothing that special here either, but any euro car is special enough.
This is my moms A8L after its monthly washing. LOL.. She trashes it instantly so once a month seems adequete for me.

I have a test spot on my truck with Collinite. It is holding up well. Most noticeably on my wheels. You must be real happy with it to say what you said. The jury is still out on my end. I am impressed with its ability to aid in cleaning. The areas that I have it on clean up well and still seem to be protected.

I really do like collinite a lot. When nothing but a perfect surface is underit, its gloss mania.
 
Excellent job as always, you saved that Infiniti from itself.

I use Collinite occasionally and I do like its durability.

Nice job on the video, and that picture of what I am guessing was the inside of your shop vac almost made me throw up...

God I envy you, blue skys, detailing in shorts...If I were to do that right now I would be on antibiotics in a week...stupid New England weather...but I digress

All cars are beautiful with excellent product write-ups. I especially like the Infiniti's blue paint. An absolutely gorgeous color.
 
Cars all look great, and it is always nice to read detailed descriptions of the processes and tools used. I've never used my no.845 on anything but boats but will have to give it a try on some cars soon.:bigups
 
Nice work and great looking cars....that 3 series has some way to serious rims on it for me...there is no rubber on them....watch out for the potholes and crubs

You telling me? I hd to apply the tire dressing with the smallest foam paint brush I had. Ive seen his car before and ironically there is no damage at all to these wheels.
