I find that when I'm out detailing, I don't usually get the chance to eat as often as I would like and the thought of packing a lunch some days isn't appealing at the time. Not to mention more often than not I find myself so engrossed into my work that I forget to eat.

So to help curb my appetite I will bring along some jerky to munch on while at a job site. It keeps well and there are a variety of flavors available, not to mention I do make some pretty darn good homemade jerky too!

Since, I'm always looking for ways to earn a little extra cash I investigated this and found that you can actually start a small business on the web where you buy your own jerky and can get paid at the same time. All while having it delivered to your front door. If you want to check it out look at the site that was created for me. Http:\\bolters.jerkydirect.com even us detailers must eat and why not make it a healthy snack.

I hope this isn't bending the rules, just thought those who subscribe here might like to order online or look to make a couple extra dollars on the side. I know we could all use a little extra green.

I am a fan of beef jerky too :)

I dont like the peppered stuff though, mostly terrayki. The softer the better for me.

Although some of the stuff in the jars near some registers is quite nice for hard jerky.

I do like the softer easy to chew Jerky myself. When I make it at home I always try to leave some moisture in the meat. What I find works best is to take it out of the Oven or Dehydrator and let it cool down but not completely. While it is still warm I place it in a plastic Ziplock bag and allow the moisture being released from the warmth to stay in the bag, which in turns allows the jerky to re absorb that moisture keeping just moist enough.
I don't worry about it going bad or moldy as it nevers last long enough for that to happen.

Plus I enjoy a spicy jerky too! I've made so HOT :angry Jerky that will lite you up. Good a flavorful but with a kick.

Did you check out the website? Alot of good products here. I just started into this and tried the pepper Beef Jerky. Awesome, shoot in my house it didn't even make it through the night. Not to spicy as the kids enjoyed it too.
Great with beer.

Check it out if you get a chance. Have it delivered right to your door. How easy is that? http://bolters.jerkydirect.com

Keep the replies coming.

I make some Jerky out of everything I shoot, the more moisture the less protein and what not that is cooked out of it.

What's the oddest type of jerky anyone's had? I've had bear and ostrich

True the more moisture left in the more protein and such, but it also can go bad more quickly and be suseptible to contamination.

As for the oddest jerky I've had would be Alligator. I've also had Elk Jerky too, which I made myself.
