Jeff's Werkstatt verses Zaino's

ZAIO must be left on the paint for significantly longer than Prime. You most likely have to do the entire vehicle and then come back and start buffing. I believe the directions say leave on for 15 minutes. IIRC

You can apply ZAIO in the same way that you have been using Prime. I normally apply to the entire vehicle and than go back and buff off any residual that remained after working the product into the finish. Like Prime, KAIO, VM, etc, a little is all that is needed for normally cleansing and correction. If you are going to top with your favorite LSP, there is no need to wait.

To be accurate about both products recommended procedures, a 15 min (ZAIO) and 30 min (Prime Strong*) lag period for maximal protective values. Since I normally F/U with a dedicated LSP and it takes about 15 casual minutes to apply, I just jump right into buffing off either product.

DIRECTIONS

PRIME STRONG

1. PREPARE: Surface should be clean and preferably cool.

2. APPLY: By hand or random orbital polisher, gently rub into surface with quality foam or microfiber pad. For best results, work Prime into the surface until it just begins to dry.

3. WAIT: Allow surface to cure to a haze for 30 minutes.

4. REMOVE: Wipe off residue with quality microfiber towel

Someone else will need to chime in about Z7 and foam gun. :wavey

Lets also not forget, that Prime Strong is a few dollars cheaper per bottle than ZAIO...If I remember correctly, ZAIO is around 27 and Prime Strong is around 24. You can also get regular Prime for a little less as well.

You also have to factor in shipping. If you want to maximize the cost of shipping you really need to buy several products at one time. It isn't cost effective to buy just ZAIO or Prime.

So with the new knowledge you have to leave Prime on significantly longer than ZAIO, or is this still in dispute?

According to customer service, you can wipe on wipe off like almost everyone has been doing. No issues. When I did this in test with ZAIO last night, I had significant streaking. Yet it was cleaned up easily with Z8

Following instructions usually produce the best results. If not, why even write them. If ZAIO is used as instructed streaking would not be a problem requiring a Z8 alleviation of such.

Nevertheless, it must be the product's/tool's fault when the user finds the need to step out the box and use a product/tool as he/she see fit.

Please do not do any of this crap, there both excellent products. If you want to know buy the stuff and test for yourself. You will only get the groupies of each product to say there's is the best.

You called it.

Your right. Any time a person does not like the results of Zaino, it must be the users fault.

Never stated such and as usually truth and your credibility has been a victim of your keyboard (delusion(s)).

Some person who is new asks a question and is threatened by a long term member to "not start that crap." This place is a joke, the guy is looking for information everyone needs to lighten up. As for they other 2 fella's, I'm not sure if either of you guys are objective but at least blkz28 knows the manufactorers recommendations, lol. Carry on ladies at some point the new guy will get some useful information.

Not objective? I offered to send the OP a sample of each to try them on his own. Try again.

I have both lines, and they are both veery good!

First, as far as correction capabilities go, machine or by hand? By machine it is too pad dependent to really tell, IME. By hand they are really similar. I prefer ZAIO in every respect.

Second, I have had no problems with removal of either one after just a few minutes after application. It comes down to the relative thiness or thickness of application as well as humidity/temp., IME.

Third, while prime strong leaves a nice finish, I wouldn't even consider using it as an LSP. However, I use ZAIO on my DD as an LSP since I apply it every month or so, and maintain wtih Z8.

Fourth, you really can't go wrong with either, and like a broken record, it is totally dependent on what your experiences lead you to decide. Then return to the thread and submit your opinion. Isn't autopia GREAT?!

Finally, Joshtpa, enough w/ the bickering and underdeveloped assertions. Post your opinion and leave it at that or take to PM.

I have both the full Zaino line and the Werkstatt line. Both look great. If you are looking for durability then Zaino would be my choice. Zaino's durability is second to none.

I like the JW product because I like the convenience and durability of the AJT as my LSP. AJT is sooo easy and quick to use (just like a QD) that I end up using it once a month. By default, I also use Prime about once every 9-12 mos (right after I clay my car).

While using ONR to wash my car about once every 2 weeks, my car stays swirl free between my polish with Prime and the shine is awesome with AJT.
