Jeff's Werkstatt verses Zaino's

Pennypacker- I've never tried the Jeff's. But I have tried ZAIO (thanks for the sample BlkZ28Conv!). It has much more aggressive abrasives than KAIO, Autoglym SRP, or VM. In a direct comparison with both untopped, it lasted longer than KAIO. Left a nice slick finish, can't really say about the look as it was on OK-condtion silver.

I'd be just a *little* careful about what you apply ZAIO to; it marred up a plastic sideview mirror housing that I usually use AIO/SRP/VM on and it took two grades of polish to bring it back.

AJT is a very nice sealer. Have not tried ZAIO.

I mean, you could have asked, "which is best...Ford or Chevy?" There really is no answer, it's all about preference.

You mean, Honda or Toyota? If you have more money, it's BMW or Mercedes? Not many buy Fords and Chevys anymore...

Gotta try both, but I would say that ZAIO is a great detailing product because of how long the protection lasts. I never tried JW so maybe it's the same, but with ZAIO you don't need to top it at all ever. Unless you like adding additional coats, no need to buy the other Zaino sealants in my opinion.

That was a pretty dumb statement, where is your evidence to back that opinion?

Don't let this get under your skin. :D I like having my Z06 being unique (rare) in almost every locale.:usa

No one buys VW's either. :secret

Take Jostpa's offer and try both. Like many have stated both are wonderful products and any differences between the 2 can be negated by a skilled detailer.:2thumbs:

Both products are excellent (among the very best out there).

I might give a slight edge to Zaino on darker colored paint and a slight edge to Werkstatt on lighter colors.

Werkstatt is cheaper than Zaino and AJT is incredibly easy to use and for that reason I use Werkstatt.

Bottom line: the subtle differences between the two comes down to subjective preferrences.

JWP:A + AJT vs. ZAIO. almost apples and oranges IMO

Strictly comparing the two combos listed in the OP:

The JW combo will do little in paint correction (JW doesn't have any real paint correcting products), but would likely last longer since you're adding a dedicated sealant on top.

ZAIO would have more paint correcting abilities

Looks are totally subjective

Prime Strong and Prime have virtually the same corrective capabilities as ZAIO.

I have not found this to be true also. Prime and Prime Strong are more in line with KAIO, VM, Blackfire/UPP cleansers and P21S GEPC with all things equal (pad selection, PC, etc) IMHO.

Prime strong is no where near any of those. I would like to see your comparisons. Because you are one of the first people that has ever said that. Prime Strong has more corrective capabilities than ZAIO in my tests and most tests of members here.

Please read my post more closely. Prime Strong has less corrective power than ZAIO. Maybe JW increased their cutting power since I purchased it when PS first can out. :nixweiss

So I guess we and others actually agree to disagree.:woot:

I would like to see your proof of that. Prime strong does not have less than ZAIO as far as correction....I have done hood tests side by side, and it is not even close, and have posted pictures on this site. Please show me when you tried both.

I am not here to debate my experiences with you. Just give my experiences and the reader can take them for what their worth.

Obviously there is no universal agreed abilities of these products because both sides of the fence have been stated.

As stated earlier and you made a generous offer for the OP to try both.

Take this for what it's worth and get back on subject.

Also if your point of view has validating proof besides your opinion please present. :sadwavey:

I had ZAIO on my beater for 3 months as a stand alone test and it was still holding up very well. I have never done a stand alone test with Prime or PS. I don't recall those products being marketed that way.

I have used prime, prime strong and ZAIO. I prefer ZAIO as I have had better results with it. I really like how ZAIO looks on dark colors, it provides a "carnuba like" appearance that the werkstatt AIOs can't match. Topping each with a coat of their respective LSPs: Z5pro and AJ or AJT, zaino is the clear winner in this case. This of course is my opinion and your results may differ.

So try them all and let us know what you think.

Is Prime strong a good product for removing all waxes and sealants in prep for a fresh start?

Yes and an excellent product for such activity. But remember that PStrong, like ZAIO, is laying down a protective element as they cleanse/correct.

I've used both product lines, both are excellent. I prefer Werkstatt but that doesn't necessarily mean you would.

Thinking of giving zaio a go, been using prime & removing straight away, how long do i leave zaio before removing.

I like being able to remove it quickly & get on to the next stage, which is what i do with prime, only ever have an afternoon to get a detail done.

Does anyone have any advice on using Z7 in the gilmour, what dilution & what settings on the gun.
