Lets be honest David, your members started all this by linking my videos to this site and making some very rude comments that had nothing to do with asking question about detailing. I let this go on for 2 years until I finally commented back. Now I am the bad guy for speaking against your members. You had no problem with your members down grading someone they don't even know.
What you seem to not understand here, Jeff, is that this forum is filled with working professionals who know and understand automotive paint extremely well, whether you choose to believe it or not. And as working professionals who hold ourselves to a high standard and believe in providing quality to the consumers we serve, we take serious issue with the perpetuation of incorrect and improper technical knowledge or information as it does a disservice to the consumer public as well as the image of our trade. Before you once again say "where are your videos proving your work then" allow me to point out that there are a wide variety of ways for professionals to market themselves -- not just by creating and posting YouTube videos -- and a vast majority of us choose to utilize other methods which are just as valid as 1080p HD videos from a Sony camcorder in documenting and sharing the results of a process.
On multiple occasions during this and other threads, factual and science-based explanations have been brought to your attention with regard to why your methods and procedures are harmful or will not produce lasting quality results. Thus far, you have proven unwilling to refute those reasons in an equally factual and science-based manner. Instead you immediately launch into personal attacks even when people attempt to deal with you in a professional manner; that is why you are getting the sort of reception you're getting here. You continuing to post and bash people only exacerbates the problem and draws it out at length.
As I get the sense you just want this all to be over and done with, my advice to you would be to simply stop responding here and let things die down. Since you appear to have at least some degree of understanding of SEO, you should realize that the longer a thread sits idle, the lower its ranking will become. By constantly mentioning "overspray removal companies" in this thread, all you're doing is adding yet another dose of fuel to the fire and there will now likely be TWO threads on page one of Google results from Autopia, both of which paint you in a less than favorable light to potential customers -- and not because of comments made by the rest of the membership here. Notice that the initial replies to this thread were in no way personal attacks, they were an attempt at academic discussion of your methods. You are the one who immediately started attacking people personally in response. There's a BIG difference there.
Your members have made fake Youtube accounts to make negative comments on my Youtube site.
First of all, you have no way of determining the origin of the people who commented negatively on your YouTube channel. Secondly, even if any of them did come from this forum, it is not Autopia's discretion or responsibility to reprimand users for their conduct on a third-party site that is not under their domain. If you want some sort of action taken on that front, talk to Google -- they're the ones who own and operate YouTube. Before you do that, though, just keep in mind that you too have attacked other people personally on their YouTube channels using your official personal account.
I can have the thread removed from the internet. People have linked my videos on their sites before and I had them removed. Why not just call it a day and remove the thread from the net, its closed anyway. That proves the only reason its still on this forum is because your riding on my back for search results. I will not comment on this forum when the thread is removed. I want nothing to do with a forum that lets their members slander someone else on the net.
Slander is defamation of spoken word.... libel is written defamation. And in either case, you'd have very little leg to stand on in making such a claim considering that you have largely provoked the responses you've gotten. In no way does that make being rude in reciprocity acceptable, but you are the one who "threw the first proverbial punch" here and are continuing to do so, which makes you just as culpable.
David Fermani: I am going to respectfully request that you hold fast to your above post informing Mr. Suggs that he was receiving his first and last warning about his conduct on the forum. And, in the spirit of fairness, I would also request that you take measures to appropriately reprimand any other members who you feel have crossed the line and behaved in an unprofessional/unbecoming manner in response to Mr. Suggs (and that includes me, should you feel that what I have said in this thread is in any way outside the bounds of what is acceptable forum behavior). This entire situation has escalated to the point that it simply cannot be allowed to continue; this forum is about a group of mature adults who care about this industry doing all we can to educate both industry insiders and the consumer public about proper cosmetic care and reconditioning. These types of side shows detract from what is otherwise a noble mission and even if they are driving increased forum traffic, I feel it is for totally the wrong reasons. Thank you for your consideration.
