Jeep Audio

I keep the lid off of my jeep most of the year and even drive in light rain. I'm looking to buy a new system and was wondering where to start as far as marine stereo. Durable speakers are a must also. I drive a 95 Jeep Wrangler YJ. :yay

I know they're overpriced but did you look at Crutchfield? Their guides/etc. are usually awesome places to start when planning out a system.

I actually had a Crutchfield catalog sitting next to me when I responded. I flipped through the pages but didn't see one dedicated marine application. They are on the high price end of the scale but their service is top notch and their adapter kits make installs in most vehicles a piece of cake.

Interesting... I wonder why they don't have anything in the catalog? They always used to. Goes to show how long it's been since I bought anything from them!

Either way, there's an entire section of their site dedicated to marine audio:

Not sure if I am too late, but......

I (or any of my jeep friends) have ever used marine equipment. For speakers, just find something that does not have paper cones. I used Alpine Type S. 6.5" in the sound bar and 4x6" in the front. Alpine CDA105 cd player. Unless you are planning on driving through some serious downpours, I would not get hung up on marine audio.
