Jaguar Vanden Plas Detail

Yeah, the VP I detailed had those matts too (at least 3 of them). They are so plush and comfortable it's ridiculous. But they are a MAJOR PITA to clean and when I wet them down they kind of smelled like a wet dog.

My brother has a 2005 XJ Super V8 and he also has those mats. I have to wonder how someone can say they're comfortable if you wear shoes? I understand taking your shoes off, but thats not practical in a car.

The couple of times I've driven in this car I was wearing nice shoes (not sneakers). I could feel even through my shoes how soft and plush the matts were. I think you can feel a difference because the knap is SO thick compared to other carpets.

Aren't they sheepskin?

If so, they could almost double as a wash pad :lmfao

You are correct. They are sheepskins. And about the wash pad, maybe someone did use them to wash the car and caused all of the marring? LOL

How does one clean those type of mats, on a regular basis...

They are a PITA to clean. I just vaccum them regularly for the client, but it takes a LOONG time becuase so much sand/dirt can get caught in them. I always have to use a brush to help lift the dirt and debris, and then vaccum.
