First time poster, first time detailer here. I've recently bought a new Mazda MX5 & started looking for some gear to keep it spic 'n' span. Stumbled across this site & discovered a whole new world, it's certainly a step up from a quick rub down with a sponge & a bit of Fairy Liquid.
This week-end I've done my first mini-detailing job on the Mazda & enjoyed every bit of doing it. Here's what I've used, I'd welcome any comments;
Pinnacle Shampoo, Megs lambswool mit & 2 buckets
Sonus ultra-fine clay
Sonus paintwork cleanser
3 x coats of Klasse SG
3 x coats of Chemcal Guys XXX carnuaba paste
I only allowed 4 hours between coats of Klasse which I now understand isn't enough (doh !) with 24 hours before using the XXX. That said, the finish is fantastic (by my normal standards), very glossy & wet with great reflection.
My only real problem now is I want to try every conceivable combination of products (I'm already looking at other sealant / wax combinations). I aslo feel the urge to get a PC, feel free to talk me in to it. How do you folks reign yourselves in ? I can see me sending a fortune over the next few years. :woot2:
