It's been raining bugs here My black DD (07 Mustang GT) is driven to work in the predawn hours through swampland (hence the bugs) then parked outside a petrochemical plant where it's exposed to the elements and God knows what else, eventually ending the day w/ a layer of dust from an unpaved parking lot. On the way home, I fight to get back out of the swampland - in a crowd of p/u trucks w/ mudders slinging rocks everywhere. It's tough I tell ya...I get no respect!
Living along the Gulf coast there's lots of humidity in the air. I'll get off in the morning working the night shift and find my car in the same condition as yours. Dust+fog=mud. I'm always driving a clean muddy (oxymoron?) car 'til my next set of days off:bawling:.
Which is how I became an Autopian. I work 12 hour swing shifts and wash my car every 4 to 5 days depending on my shift - that totals about 6 washings a month from work induced punishment (just got through showering after washing the car - finished @ sunset.) Thanks to the info I've gathered here, it still looks new almost a year later despite its environment.
