Its Dirtier With ONR !

I like ONR, and it's amazing for what it is, but like Toyotaguy, I prefer a hose to get the loose stuff of before touching the paint. It's much faster for me too. I use ONR mostly as a claylube and/or QD, works great and is very cheap.

i dont think that its the ONR/soap that removes the dirt in a sense....

its the pre rinse to remove the loose stuff, then the soap to agitate and loosen more stuck on stuff, then a final rinse to remove both.....

with ONR, its a wipe on to prerinse and remove in one step, but when drying, you may not get all the dirt off with the WW towel....that is the difference I think....I love my ONR by the way...

but if I have the opportunity to use a hose and car wash soap....I am all over it because its faster for me

No rinses may require a different drying technique. Maybe a long nap drying towell would be more effective than a WW.

I love ONR as well and its a life saver now that I live in COndo but I wouldn't rely on it solely before adding aditional treatments. Its not the products fault its more to do with user error. Sometimes you miss a spot or you don't "slide" away the dirt far enough. This is where a 2nd pass from the clean rins bucket (als with ONR) cuts down the missed areas.

To be 'for sure' I hit the each panel and the waffle weave with a cleaning quick detailer before doing the first drying pass. I think FK 146 is perfect for this and its slick finish leaves the paint in great shape if you are in a hurry and don't have time to do the whole topper thing.

One method I started doing recently was to douse a sponge with ONR and hold it over each panel.

It only takes two seconds before each panel is flooded and the the surface is prelubricated before actually making the first contact with the paint using my MF towel (or Sheepskin). I let the flooded panels soak for a few mintues while I spray down the wheels with wheel cleaner. Using ONR without pre-rinsing may be safe but a little extra effort doesn't hurt.

did a really dirty truck today and had to mix a little water and ONR in a bottle and spray down teh whole thing before going with the usual routine...
