Opti Coat Pro Certified
I had a customer contact me who is out in WA near Seattle about Correcting and coating his New M6. He had spoken with a few local people about some options like Gtech or CQ but I guess didn't like what they had to say so he flew me out to do my thing and apply Opti Coat Pro. After finding me on this forum he decided to get the most reflective finish possible and I was the man for the job! Now being from Cali I froze to death while in Tacoma I think it was like -300 degrees out side(Slight exaggeration, only slight though
) So I got in contact with Brian Churchill and he was nice enough to let me use his shop while I was there to do the work. I was on a huge time crunch on this as I got there at about 4pm on Friday and had a flight out at 11pm the next night. Then straight to Mexico for Vaca. Given the work that needed to be done I got to it and worked through the night minus an hour nap where I dreamed I was hanging out in Antarctica. After I woke I decided to keep moving rather freeze to death not moving. I'm gonna say sorry for some of my pics because clearly I was shaking when took the pics so their blurry.
When I picked the car up it looked lifeless to my eyes
There was bird poo everywhere.
Tragically I had to drive this almost 600hp monster about 40 min away to Brians shop. This had to be the worst part of the whole trip because I know we all hate driving 600hp cars.... Gawd I wish it was pruis, probably would of been funner saving all that gas money... Not hearing the fire breathing master piece that the M division cooked up. Being begged to get the holy grail of MPG instead of being begged to drive it like you stole it... I know we all get depressed in situations..
After I washed and decon'd the car I brought it inside. Then I used my phone to google "symptoms of hypothermia and frostbite". After seeing what google said I decided that I was just being a little girl and was in no real danger of losing any limbs. So I got to it!
Inspecting the car it was in ok shape but not great by any means.
I really had to pick and chose my battles on this as I was on limited time. So I left a few RIDs here and there rather than chase them down. I was going for 95% and got 95.0043 so I was happy.
The Bpillars took the worst of the dmg. These SUCKED to polish out... Sneeze and scratch soft.
Now at this point it was about 7am and I had got a fair amount done so I pull my phone out and checked the hypothermia and frostbite symptoms and decided I was still alive and probably still just being a little girl about the cold.
Jason Kilmer showed up at 8am to give me a hand getting the car done and take me to star bucks! I was soooo happy for this. BTW This is a great guy and the whole team at polished image are awesome as well. So from now on when ever ppl in WA/Seattle area contact me I'll save my self the hypothermia and Refer them to Brian's shop. If I would of known before hand probably could saved my pinky toe... It had to be cut off when I got because I was crying so much about the cold my tears stuck it and froze it off.
So this is bare naked paint after what seemed to the longest IPA wipe down in history. Freezing cold and 91% IPA doesnt flash away... To Apply OC pro was just as fun and for sure a learning experience.
This shot right after washing, note the gloss, and clarity.
After it was done! HUGE difference. Forgive that lack of more done pics. I was in a huge hurry and still had to take the car back in the rain and ONR it real quick when I got to the parking garage. I'm glad I met some awesome ppl to refer customers to in that area! It's funny I get emails from all over the country a ton(mostly for Tesla's and not sure why:rofl).
Thanks for looking!
