It's 95 degrees and snowing....pollen

What are you folks doing to keep sane with this pollen? I am in Massachusetts, and I have an inch (exaggeration) on my car :hairpull. I have a foam gun...blast, rinse, dry with WW... not using a mitt. I don't see any pollen after foam gun and rinse. A little worried about not using the mitt, but in this heat I am getting sweaty and lazy, and just want it off my car QUICKLY. Think the foam gun gets it off ok? Should or should not dry with MF or WW if not using mitt? Rick

I actually have had very bad luck with the Car Duster, pollen, and my black car. Did not do well with my paint. Was able to polish out the damage.
 
i feel your pain im in MA also. i just did a full detail today and took me about 12 hours. lol i got a black car also im afraid to bring it out of the garage. :( Nothing will combat pollen. I use quikshine/#425 doesnt do anything just deal with it lol.
 
Yup, not much you can do. My Gray car is now green because of it. If you had a CR spotless and a good layer of sealant or wax, you could just rinse the pollen off from time to time and let it air dry. Other than that, I don't trust using a Cali duster or QD.
 
Its all Pine pollen. Its been nasty! Allergies have been killing me. I usually just take the hose and spray it off. Where in Mass are you guys?
 
I went for a flight lesson last Sunday.. While cruising at 3500 feet, it looked like there was a brush fire below us.. it was pine pollen comng off the trees!



Macruz.. pollen season is running late this year... May was cold and wet, and we just had 4 days of 95+ temps and high humidity.
 
Worse pollen season I seen in Mass.....its like dust clouds blowing in the wind....I left my window open in my truck to vent the heat out..in the course of 30 minutes the inside was covered in pollen and the windshield and paint was covered in the yellow pollen...you can see the dust clods when the wind blows...looks like smoke

Last year was bad, possibly worse than this year. I spent 5 hrs on this car Sat morning :(

SE Mass...Rochester.. Nothing but trees in my town. But even a ride up on a major highway and the vehicle is covered....not good for the OCD personality type.
 
Pine pollen! That's what all that crud is in CT. I washed my car tonight, and the first rinse was a brownish-greenish color. Probably took 95% of the dirt off the car.
 
Quick solution for me. I was wondering if my investment in the Gilmour foam gun was worth it; now I realize, for this long pollen season, it is a must have. Foam, sheet rinse, leaf blower dry. 5-10 minutes in all, no contact with car, no pollen remaining on vehicle, and very nice shine back. Given I feel compelled to do this every day, ten minutes isn't too bad, and with the no touch tools, not worried about pollen marring. I highly recommend for those who want to get rid of the pollen daily, and quickly.
 
I have been battling pollen up in NH since mid May, it's pretty bad this year. When you have 3 cars to clean, it's hard to keep up with washing and detailing. Is it true that pollen is abrasive and when pollen is baked under the sun, it turns acidic??
