Whose yer DADDY!??!?!?!?!
Afternoon gents,
So in the last few years I got a new job and have gradually moved away from detailing, however I have continued to maintain the family fleet of vehicles. Work sent me out of state for about 7 weeks and unfortunately while I was away my wife had to take her car to the local hand carwash (despite my objections). They wiped down the dash with some sort of dressing it which has become very tacky and shiny.
I have gone back to the establishment to complain a few times and they have basically stonewalled me. They keep saying, "we don't know that this happened here." (however aggravating this response is; it is a story for another time).
Up to the point of her taking her car there, I had been using Poorboys Natural Look to maintain the dash and interior, which for the past 7 years had been working beautifully.
Since it seems that I am going to have to fix this myself, my question is simple. How would you go about cleaning this gunk off? It seems VERY sturdy.
For the record, the car is an 07 Lexus IS 350, which has that textured/soft finish interior panels. Not leather and doesn't seem to be vinyl, but almost certainly some type of plastic.
My instinct would be to use either a heavily diluted woolite/water mixture or some varying dilution of Megs APC, however I wanted to see if anyone might have a different plan of attack that I might not have considered at this point.
