Thanks Ron for photo expose on vehicle rolling artwork, whether by a vehicle manufacturer or skilled auto body hot rod fabricators. It truly exemplifies and showcases the creativity of various designers throughout the years: some functional, some stylistic, and some just plain "art masterpieces" of metal and plastic. Design methods sure have changed over the years, because the production vehicles by manufacturers from the 30`s through 60`s were largely done by full size clay models and trial-and-error mock-ups. That pales in comparison to the digital era of 3-D design and builds and photo realistic renderings done today. My point is that some of the most beautiful and stylistic vehicles, including the booties you`ve posted, were done manually and the painstaking effort and attention to detail speak for themselves. Yes, they were (and are) aerodynamic "bricks" but they sure do look good. Any late 50`s-early 60`s fin cars like Caddy`s and DeSotos photos???
