It may be a little early in the week but....

What are everyone's detailing plans for the weekend?

In my case, the Maxima is getting pretty dirty due to crappy weather. Therefore, I am planning to do the following:

Wash with Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo, EF HI

Clay using the Clay Magic Bar and the rest of the Mothers QD in my garage

Wax with Souveran

Clean Mats using HI

Clean dead pedal using EF Carpet and upholstery cleaner

Clean Windows using Stoner's and a YoSteve MT

Go out on date with GF...:D

Weather permitting of course:
  • Z7 wash
  • Minor swirl/watermark removal, Meg's #9 2.0 + PC
  • Wash again to remove residue/oils
  • Seal with the "new" Z2 + ZFX; maybe multiple layers, time permitting
  • Dress tires with Vinylex (only used once before, but so far, I like)
  • Vac interior
  • Clean interior glass

If I have any energy left, I may tackle the engine bay (something I really, really hate working on; my back hurts just thinking about it).

4. Two layers of Klasse SG

Take some pictures and rest!

I've actually got a very busy weekend planned. I've got 3 cars to detail completely with Blackfire and all on Saturday. Then on Sunday I'm doing my father-in-law's aunt's car and then mine. It should be about a $250 weekend or so. :D I can't wait. Just in time for the weather man to say its going to snow on Monday. Aragahahaha!!!!! $#@&*!? Utah weather!!!!

If you have some Souveran, blitz, or P21S, top the Klasse with it. You will love the results.

BTW, What color is your Max?

I have not yet invested in any Souveran, blitz, or P21S. I will probably go with the Souveran but wife will kill me if I spend another $50 on detail supplies. Will wait a few weeks.

My Maxima is Sunlit Sand SE (6spd).

:)

I may be getting my Souveran this week along with their PCL. I just recently found your site(and yes I have gone through the university as I studied the detailing guide when I bought some big blue towels from CMA a few weeks ago).

I have been a die-hard Griot's fan for awhile, but you guys are raving about Souveran, so I had to order it. My process for the weekend would be below:

1. Wash with Dawn to remove existing wax/oils.

2. Clay only if necessary(did this about a month ago)

3. PCL applied with PC orbital

4. Souveran applied by hand.

Question for you PCL experts. I have used Griot's Machine Polish #3, a very mild abrasive, to very successfully remove swirls and scratches from my paint. Does PCL do the same thing or is it just an adhesive agent for the Souveran?

Also, I ordered Pinnacle's Crystal Mist for QD applications. I have been using Griot's Speed Shine for this purpose and really like it's results. Do you HAVE to use Pinnacle's QD product with Souveran?

If you don't want to shell out the dough for Souveran yet, get Blitz or P21S.

I managed to luck up and get mine for $40 when someone had on sale.

BTW, Mine is a Gray Lustre SE with an Auto.

I saw the pics of your Maxima in the members pictures section. It looks sweet. Do you have any shots of it after you detailed it?

I will probably just pick up some Meguirs carnauba until I can shell out for some Souveran.

My plan is to try out clay magic, and detail an MB SUV with Joed1228. Sounds like fun!

PPCL is a very mild cleansing agent. I beleive that it has little to no abrasive qualities. Rather, it cleans by chemical action. For newish paint with no swirls, it is a great product by itself to prepare the paint. If you have swirls, you need an abrasive. I am partial to the 3M line of SMR or the Finesse It and Perfect It lines.

I also use Crystal Mist. It is my favorite QD among those I have tried. You can use any QD with Souveran; but I prefer one with a carnauba content.

Not yet. I am still shopping for more items to detail with. :D

i will be trying my new PC 7336sp, (for which i had to sit in traffic for 1.5 hours because a tractor trailer didn't make a turn!, coastaltool.com, is located 15 minutes from me so i drove down)

i plan on using the machine with meguiars #2, with 3m waffle pad, and then Z'ing 3 coats or so on.

i wonder if i'll need to smr after #2??, suggestion??....

:xyxthumbs

My Honda will get its spring cleaning, weather permitting of course. The plan is:

1. Touch up bumper and hood on friday

2. Dawn

3. Clay

4. 3M SMR with PC

5. AIO with PC

6. SG - at least 2-3 coats this weekend

7. Polish windows with Rain-X glass polish

8. Usual trim and tire dressing

Interior will get its treatment following week.
