this weekend at the 2nd Annaul HALO (Houston Area Lightning Onwers) Charity truck Show. There were 35 entries and we raised $640 for The Firefighters Ministries (who help the families of firefighters who are lost in the line of duty). This is my Lightning and me. Good fortune smiled - I took first place in the high milage class - 52K miles in 2 1/2 years.

Half past March, quarter to April, temps 85+ in a cloudless sky - the socks helped control the sunburn on winter shins.

I've really enjoyed driving the truck on the streets and highways. I used to think fly-fishing was the most fun you could have vertical - then I went WOT on the 1/8 mile drag strip. THAT changed my mind about fly-fishing in a hurry!

Thank you all for the congratulations. Second show I ever participated in, too. Truck looked great, but it wasn't all my effort. Another HALO guy steam cleaned the carpets and another did a 6 hour engine detail in exchange for a paint polish job.

Big winner was the charity we were raising funds for.:bounce

Awesome looking truck, but questionable socks :D

:lol Yeah, the 70's just called, they want their knee high tube socks back! :p

Your truck looks great! Makes all that work worth it when you take home the big prize.

Jeez, you guys, raggin' me about my socks!

Well, come on. Try some SPF. "Save yourself, man! ":D

Congrats on the win and what a great cause. It hits especially close to home here in MA where we lost 6 firefighters in the Worcester fire, Dec. 1999. Keep up the good work!
