2007 Lexus IS350, been taking care of this one since it was new. Usually go out 2-3 times a year to lightly polish and wax it. Due to the owner's diligence in keep up the finish, it is amazingly swirl free for a 5 year old car that hasn't ever been corrected.

It hadn't been washed in a few weeks, we've had some pop-up thunderstorms so it was pretty dirty for summertime. Thought it would show how well the newest version of ONR cleans and adds gloss.

2012 Ford F-350. Owner had a 2007 F-250 and after the 3rd fuel filter issue and potential large repair bill while on a trip, instead asked for a sales person, traded in the '07 and picked up this one. I must say, for a heavy duty diesel truck, this one sure is quiet inside. King Ranch edition so it smells like a new baseball glove inside. Really didn't need much at all, paint was swirl free and since he uses his trucks as trucks (has a ranch in south Texas, hunts regularly) its going to need enough polishing in the future that avoiding it now was a good idea.

2012 Mercedes AMG CLS63, same customer who owns the Cayenne Turbo S, 458 Italia and Carrera S I've recently done. Has an AMG SL63 on the way too. Nice collection!

This one was in great shape except for 3 small areas with rotary swirls, which leads me to believe there were minor paint issues buffed out at the factory. Typically if the dealer is to blame, the whole car is covered in swirls.

2013 Raven Black Scion FR-S. This one was a lot more swirled than the last one posted. Like the one before, most of the swirls were tire height and lower, leading me to speculate it is whatever tire scrubber is used on the machine the dealers run the cars through.

Cars look great, that Lexus really pops in the sun. Did you use your standard Woolite and water mixture on the leather in the truck? I have heard mixed things about King Ranch leather but most people say it sucks for cleaning. Maybe you'll have to wait until he gets it really dirty before you can tell how well it cleans up.

They All look great. For the Lexus how come you used HD Polish instead of Optimum Hyper Polish? What do you look for when deciding what to use?

Looks great! Nice to see the Accord being used :).

Oh yeah, its being used. It had 74,972 miles on it when I bought it in the middle of September last year, put gas in it yesterday, recorded the mileage...101,611.

Truck is brand new, only vacuumed the interior this time. With King Ranch leather, we spray the towel and then wipe instead of directly spraying it. Works very well.

I normally have been using OHP on this one, just wanted to see how HD Polish compares. I had shade to polish in (not sure if HD Polish is sun friendly on a 100 degree day) so I figured I'd try it on this car. Seems to have a pretty similar cut and shine.

Very nice results, wow!

That Lexus looks AMAZING! Nice glossy paint!

But I do have a question for you Scott:

I see that you're using OHP ... is it in spray?

Because when I'm looking on our Canadian Detailing Site (eshine, autoobsessed, etc), I only see the Spray version.

Yes, OHP is a spray. All else being equal, that gives it a competitive advantage due to ease of use.

Great work! Do you typically do most of your work out in the sun?

If the garage has enough room and is adequately ventilated, we prefer to work out of the sun but usually garages around here are filled with everything other than the cars and no air flows through them so working in the sun is actually a bit cooler.

Looks good Scott! Lots of real-estate on those King Ranches! Fun correction on a HOT day! lol!

Good thing is any correction he may need will be after hunting season is over so that will be late January or early February before he will probably need any polishing.

Hey Scott, I noticed you mentioned you used both Optimum's Microfiber Cutting Pad and the Finishing Pad. I know most of the guys here love the Meg's Microfiber Cutting Pad but are not crazy about the finish of the Finishing Pad. What are your thoughts about Optimum's? Love the both the Cutting Pad and the Finishing Pad?

The Optimum pads use the same microfiber, the difference is cut is due to the extra firmness in the foam in the cutting pad. A bit less cut than the Meguiars cutting pad but the finish is noticeably better. The microfiber polishing pad is my go to pad for most cars.

So the Optimum cutting pad has less cut but finishes better than the Megs cutting pad. Does the same hold true the finishing pads? Ie the Optimum finishing pad cuts less but finishes better than the Megs finishing pad?

The polishing pad has more cut than the finishing pad, but both finish very well.

OK. Can the same backing plate be used for both companies mf pads or are the backing plates specific to the type of pad
