As a relative noob from the UK I can say hand on heart that Autopia's changed my life. It and the pople here have made me more analytical and way more self critical of my work and made me a lot more open to other people's thoughts and arguments.
OK, it's *just* a hobby and I make little or no money from it but the improvements in my techniques have made me seriously consider jacking in my day job (which is making other people VERY wealthy indeed) and doing something I enjoy and at which I am reasonably good instead - that's down to Autopia entirely.
The exchange of views can get heated at times but frankly I have no problem with that, providing that people don't get personal or unnecessarily rude with each other - it is *just* car wax after all!
I like to see what other people think about products they use as this helps me decide whether something should be in my garage or not - my own Zaino experience (Z16) was less than impressive so that's cast a shadow over whether I'd use it again as on price and appearance it didn't compete with my established tyre dressing products.
The wealth of tips, hints and photos are inspiring, as is the relaxed nature of the forum and the generosity of people giving tips for free, hints on improvement and swapping products/sending samples.
To David - thank you for providing this forum
To the Mods - thank you for policing it
To fellow Autopians - thank you for proving that I'm not alone in my obsession!
