Is Z2 then Z6 enough

I clayed my new Element then applied Zaino Z2 and then Z6 and it looks and feels very good. Should I be putting something else on top now? should I have done something else first?

Other than additional layers of Z2 to give a bit better shine, it's about as good as it gets protection-wise. Some people like using some form of Carnauba topper (I don't) for more depth, but then I'd be more than a little nervous using the Z6 detailer. Z6 is a great QD and keeps my Audi glistening.

BTW, what is the color of the cap on your Z2?

Regards,

Dan.

Did you put the Z1 down 1st? Zaino is amazing! I have been using it for over 3 years now. Once you put the Z2 down, Well I have always used the Z-16 (gloss enhancer) every other wash. I also may be a little extreme, but I put a coat of Z2 on my Cobra every other month. The red fire metalic really jumps out in direct sunlight. It almost looks like my car is on fire. Oh dont forget to use the Zaino car wash, really goo stuff. I use 1 oz for 2.5 gal water and it really sudds up.

Also, dont dry your vehicle with a towel, use a electric leaf blower. I took Sal's advice about that and now I wont dry my car or clients car any other way. Just my .02

Bookemdano, yea I was wondering if Carnuba should go on top or not.

Is Z6 a QD, enhancer or sealant or all 3?

Mirror Images, I was thinking about a blower but hadn't made up my mind yet. What do you like best, speed, results or just that the crevises are taken care of so easy?

Z6 is a QD and gloss enhancer (and a very fine one, at that). It is not a sealant. I find that it includes the slickness also. In Zaino-land, Z2 and Z5 are sealants.

Well that ZFX might be some of the most expensive stuff on earth. You get about an 1/10 oz for $20 + 4 2 oz empty bottles. I'm sure I'll be happy with the result and be thrifty with it's use.

That tiny little bottle of blue gold will last a long time.

Again, what color was the cap on your Z2?

It might seem expensive... but it lasts a long time. You don't need to use it every time you apply Z2 or 5. Personally I prefer to use Z1. I tried ZFX plenty of times when it first came out, but I guess I just like the old way of doing things ;-) There's no benefit for me to use the ZFX instead of Z1.

The cap colors change sometimes... I remember when the bottles varried, and they didn't have the fancy labels that Sal puts on them now; that was about 5 years ago.

Blkz28, the cap on the z2 is red, what does that tell you? I know you are supposed to use it sparingling but what is approximate amount. I used about 1/2 oz for 2 coats on an Element, is that to thin?

Kempie, No it didn't. Just clayed, z2 then z6. Did not use the kicker stuff at all.

You should be fine, I use Z1 and its just an alcohol based solvent used to get rid of oil/grease. The ZFX is an excellerant that helps it cure it faster. I have several friends that use Zaino w/o either and it is just fine.

pdsterns,

I believe 1/2 oz would be plenty for 2 coats on your element. If not you do not need to mix up another ZFX batch. Just finish with straight Z2 or Z5, which even you are using. Even if this amount is only enough for 2 coats and you had planned to apply 3, just use straight Z2/5 for the last coat. This last coat will cure at the normal 24-48hr rate and will have no effect on the ZFX/Z2/5 previously applied coats.

I was just curious about the cap color for now. When did you purchase it?

blkz28, I picked it up about a month ago at the Howell distributor on route 9, I would think he has the lastest stuff, he's in the same town as Sal.

I was just curious and I am sure your distributor has the present version. Some have received bottles with different caps over the last few weeks and I was curious if Sal may have tickered with the Z2. He is constantly improving his polishes. :xyxthumbs
